Embedded Software Engineer Are you a skilled software engineer with a passion for embedded systems? We’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of our innovative products and solutions. What you'll do Develop software for Micropower’s Li-ion battery management systems. Write and manage software requirements. Develop embedded bare-metal software using C. Develop tools for supporting embedded development, usually using Python. Perform unit and integration testing. Collaborate with systems, hardware, and V&V teams, as well as technical project management. What you bring Requirements: Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in embedded C development. A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded software development for bare-metal or RTOS-based systems. Fluency in English (written and spoken) Additional experience we value: Proficiency in Python for scripting, testing, or tooling. Ability to interpret PCB schematics and board layouts. Familiarity with Functional Safety standards and practices. Understanding of Cyber Security in embedded systems. Experience with battery management systems (BMS). The position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of technology with advanced testing of Lithium-Ion battery systems. Role and responsibilities As a test engineer at Micropower, you will be part of a Verification and Validation group that tests and verifies all components in Micropower's battery systems. Your main task is to test and verify the functionality of the software for these systems. Testing is performed at both component and system levels through manual and automated tests. The work involves developing automated test methods based on test specifications and requirements, performing system verification of electronics and software in the systems, and continuously evaluating and documenting test results. The work also includes troubleshooting and investigating the systems for continuous improvement of both hardware and software. Skills and Experience We are looking for someone with three to five years of experience in system-level testing (hardware and software), preferably within battery systems or similar, and at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. You have a good understanding of electronics and software in embedded systems, experience in test automation/automated testing, and constructing test rigs for system testing. You have solid knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Matlab, Simulink, Python, Veristand, Teststand, and LabView, and you speak and write English fluently. We believe that you are motivated by problem-solving and have the interest and ability to delve into complex problems. You value a structured and systematic approach and you are committed to delivering solutions that uphold the highest standards of quality. As a person, you are curious and motivated to drive projects forward. You contribute with ideas and new perspectives and have an interest in trying new approaches and learning new things. In this role, you work closely with the team, so it is important that you enjoy working with others. You have an open attitude towards other people and see the value in collaboration.
