About the role As an Operations Enablement Specialist, you play a key role in helping the business deliver on its commitments by ensuring teams have the structure, tools, and insights needed to operate effectively. You will drive initiatives that reduce risk, improve efficiency, and strengthen operational readiness. Your work enables better decision-making by turning data into actionable insights, tracking progress across teams, and providing clear updates to leadership. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to bridge the gap between building robust data infrastructure and delivering meaningful insights to the business. About the Data domain The Data domain's mission is to transform Trustly into a truly data-driven organization. We are responsible for every aspect of the data journey, from collection & modeling to analysis and visualization. We provide the whole organization with data and analytics artifacts aiming to improve our decisions, operations and the customer's experience. We are currently building a new Data Platform on AWS. About the role As Trustly is currently moving towards micro-services we have identified the need for a new data platform, a data hub to cater for operational data needs. Together with the Data Platform team, you will actively participate in the implementation and the maintenance for this new data platform based on AWS. The goal is to design and build a strong and reliable data foundation that will initially support operational data exchanges and will gradually support our analytics and machine learning use cases. What you'll do Design and develop Trustly's Data Platform on AWS Build and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines from internal as well as external data producers Work with transformations of data from one or multiple source systems to feed our downstream applications Optimize data processes for efficiency and scalability Implement data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive information Participate in data governance and compliance efforts to meet regulatory requirements Provide technical expertise and guidance for critical data projects Continuously optimize data architecture to support Trustly's evolving data needs Help us identify new use-cases for our data and collaborate with stakeholders from the rest of the organization on how to realize those Who you are A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field At least 7 years of experience as a data engineer/data architect Proficient in designing and building complex data pipelines and data processing systems Experienced with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redshift, MongoDB) Proficient in building stream processing systems using Kafka Accustomed to data governance principles, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance Experienced with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP Proficient in Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, S3, Hudi, Athena, Kubernetes and CI/CD process Familiar with self-service reporting and machine learning use cases and their prerequisites in terms of data infrastructure Thrive in a fast growing company Our Fantastic Benefits 🌴 20 to 30 days of holiday (depending on location) to support a healthy work-life balance 🥳 Monthly team outing allowance to enjoy social events with your colleagues 👶 Parental leave top-up additional support for new parents 🥐 Daily breakfast and on-site perks to make your workday smoother 💚 Well being support our health allowance covers gym memberships, massages, and much more to help you feel your best PLUS additional benefits designed to enhance your work-life experience!
