We, the Release team, manage app releases across platforms. We coordinate with external and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless releases are delivered every week. We also monitor the quality of these releases, report and escalate blockers. As part of the team, you will help implement and improve Release processes for planning, operations, and continuous improvements . You will be expected to coach, guide and onboard people when it comes to release practices. As a Release Test Engineer, you will make sure that every step of the app release process is executed and that the results satisfy our release criteria. The steps include regression testing, risk analysis, coordination with Business units, cherry-picking of critical bugs as well as control and communication of features released. It also includes building new tools and enabling technologies to improve the Release process and enable other teams to deliver updates faster and more efficiently. You will be part of the Release team working and maintaining core processes at Truecaller. The impact you will create: Releasing the app across various platforms. Communicate and coordinate with Product and Engineering teams regarding releases every week. Drive cross-BU initiatives to enable or improve the Release Delivery process. Evaluate new modern tools and technologies to be integrated into the process. Maintain and improve CI pipelines. Onboarding of engineers to the release process. Develop and handle strategies for app releases. Create and document app release strategies and flows. Identify test activities and test dependencies that span across the backend and frontend domain to ensure the end to end quality. Coordinate/coach the developer’s participation in the team's test activities. Monitor app vitals and issue escalations raised internally and externally. Automate test cases to ensure faster and reliable regression coverage. Automate Release workflows. Be a gatekeeper for all team deliverables agreed quality levels to ensure that acceptance criteria and definition of done are met before a task is closed What you bring in: 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in Mobile app testing. Have a genuine passion for software quality and testing. Experience of testing in a medium or large-scale agile software development environment. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with Data analysis, basic understanding of SQL, and handling data dashboards. Understanding and hands-on experience in UI test automation on mobile platforms, Android, iOS and Web automation. Experience with Android testing frameworks such as Espresso or Appium. Experience with Backend testing. Programming experience to be able to identify causes of problems in the code base and communicate efficiently with developers. Excellent manual testing skills. Experience with Issue & Project Tracking Software - JIRA. Experience with Android Studio and Xcode(optional). Experience in tools like Postman, Charles Proxy or similar. Experience with Firebase Crashlytics. Experience with version controlling tools like Github etc and CI/CD tools like Github actions etc. It would be great if you also have: Experience working in a Startup. Programming experience to be able to identify the causes of problems in the code base and communicate efficiently with developers. Building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch. Experience in efficient communication with various stakeholders like POs, PMs, QAs etc Experience with working in multi-cultural and distributed environments. Experience with handling customer support issues. Experience in web platforms testing is good to have.
