Meta is seeking an experienced Area Construction Manager to join our Data Center Design, Engineering, & Construction (DEC) Team. Our Infrastructure family builds, operates, and retrofits the Meta data centers in service to the Meta family of Apps and it is the DEC Delivery Construction Management team that oversees the Construction activities. The DEC Delivery Construction Management (CM) organization is responsible to manage the construction execution for our Data Center fleet including new build (greenfield), retrofit (live environment changes), and onsite fiber installations (trunk to top of rack) through handoff of data halls to be provisioned with racks and servers. The Area Construction Manager (ACM) reports to the Area Manager (AM) and is a people manager responsible for managing retrofits, techmods, and site-based DEC teams in mature regions within the Area. Key responsibilities include managing Land Ready Sites, providing pre-construction support, new hire onboarding, and assuming additional duties as assigned by the Area Manager. The ACM will have 4-8 direct reports and provide leadership by influencing a matrixed team of Safety, QAQC, and Project Controls professionals to achieve predictable outcomes. This role also involves building high-quality internal and external partnerships. The ACM typically supports 6-8 regions, each with 2-6 Full Time Employees (FTE), and due to the dispersed nature of the sites, significant travel is required, 50% or more, to ensure effective support and collaboration. An execution focus is essential, prioritizing incorporating lessons learned, team health, and project success, while maintaining high financial stewardship, collaboration, and partnership within our matrixed DEC organization. Area Construction Manager Responsibilities Responsible for the financial health and wellness of the projects within the assigned Area. Monitoring the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to ensure the health of the team and project Responsible for providing people management to site teams within their Area. At Meta this includes modeling and growing the company values, developing and empowering teams, and driving execution and collaboration Responsible for providing support and guidance to the project team, particularly during contract and change order negotiations, and helping them prepare for successful presentations at Contract Change Order Approval Meetings (CCAM). As needed, engaging directly in negotiations to ensure a favorable outcome and drive successful results Responsible for reviewing and approving contracts and Change Orders within signing authority. Review and advise on contracts and change orders above signing authority Responsible for coordinating efforts with other Area Construction Managers to ensure consistency and alignment of priorities and sharing Lessons Learned and Best Practices Responsible for ensuring the timely and appropriate resolution of issues on the sites Responsible for the onboarding of new hires within the Area as well as supporting the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring decisions across all the Areas Develops high impact relationships with internal and external cross functional stakeholders to understand current opportunities for process optimization and create strategy across the Areas Request and provide fast feedback when appropriate in support of continuous improvement of projects, partners, and peers Other duties as assigned by the Area Manager (AM) Accountable for managing land ready sites, providing pre-construction support, managing retrofit and techmod projects, onboarding new hires, supporting programmatic initiatives as needed, and implementing lessons learned to drive continuous improvement and ensure project success Accountable to provide clear, concise, and timely communications to the Area Manager (AM) and broader organization when delivery of capacity will be impacted. Ensures the correct elevation of issues for awareness and escalation of issues for leadership action/involvement Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent degree Minimum of 15 years professional experience in construction and project planning of complex, mission critical projects Experience with various contract delivery methodologies, legal considerations, IP, and commercial terms Experience in engineering, design, commissioning, and operations and ground up new build site development and construction as well as retrofit work in live environments Experience prioritizing & rapidly change direction and adapt as needed to support a rapidly growing business model Possess clear communication and presentation skills, effective negotiation skills, and able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide solutions to complex problems under pressure Experience in large scale construction management (excess of $500M/year Construction spend) required Experience in design and construction supply chain and processes Preferred Qualifications Experience in data center engineering, design, commissioning, operations, telecommunications, network infrastructure, and ground-up new build site development and construction, as well as retrofit work in live environments, is highly desirable Advanced Degrees in engineering and or business administration Experience with a variety of construction models (Design-Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Lump Sum, Cost Plus, Fixed Fee, etc.) Experience in Capital Budget Management Successful experience with Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) delivery About Meta Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. Meta is seeking a Data Center Lead Electrical + Controls Subject Matter Expert for our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our systems operate to meet the demands of our customers. The Lead Electrical + Controls Subject Matter Expert will be a part of the Facility Operations team and will lead and manage a team of SMEs who are the data center operations experts for the electrical and controls systems. The Lead Electrical + Controls Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of electrical/controls systems and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure-based maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. The candidate will need to be experienced in either electrical or controls systems with the ability to quickly ramp and learn additional systems. In addition to a good technical capability, this candidate will be equipped with leadership and management skills that will be essential for team alignment to global strategies. Lead Electrical + Controls Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities Hire, develop, mentor, and manage an onsite team of electrical and controls subject matter experts, including performance and HR aspects Ensure appropriate cross-functional collaboration between local electrical and controls team and applicable local and global teams Serve as an onsite technical/consultative resource of electrical and/or controls infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical/field application. For the discipline that is less familiar, expectation is to quickly ramp into technical leadership in the field. Contribute to site safety program Plan, resource, author or approve work packages to cover electrical and controls troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and system risk Support the full lifecycle of work management responsibilities for electrical and controls systems including work planning, approval, execution, and closeout. Meta is looking for a forward-thinking Network Operations Engineer to support delivery of field services as part of our Edge and Network Services (ENS) Operations team. Ideal candidate to possess skills in a wide range of technical domains, systems, tooling and automation, security as they relate to business continuity, optical/telecom infrastructure, hyperscale DC structured cabling and IP networking. Candidates will be working with internal business teams, external vendors, and network design/engineering, and other cross-functional teams to develop strategies for integrating new technologies and to better support existing technologies across the operational fleet. An objective for this role is to understand technical drivers for the business, organize strategies to ensure the operational supportability to meet those business needs, and to represent ENS across stakeholder groups to ensure those critical projects are achieved. The team improves operational efficiency and reliability of one of the most dynamic, fast-paced networks in the world. The right candidate will have proven experience in a fast-moving organization and enjoy digging into operational pain points in order to implement the process enhancements and automation solutions to solve them. Network Operations Engineer Responsibilities Lead highly cross-functional infrastructure projects/programs/functions in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (data center, network, infrastructure, logistics, supply chain, compliance, legal, and software system engineering). Identify opportunities to drive improvements to existing tools & processes and providing feedback on new policies, practices, procedures in order to scale with the rapid expansion of the Meta platform and customer base. Represent organization and manage interaction with third party hardware, colocation, telecom carrier, and managed service partners. Lead business risk management alignment and change management at the organizational level for edge infrastructure use cases. Ensure relevant operational process, procedure, and policy documentation is effectively managed and the data required to support operations is complete and accurate in systems. Participate in the global team’s Tier IV+ on-call rotation with the goal of routing issues as needed and understanding how processes or tooling might be improved, skills can be developed, or automation can be implemented to prevent the need to escalate similar issues in the future. Provide intermediate root cause and corrective action leadership to resolve any and all operational issues found across infrastructure architectures, hardware platforms, and vendor performance. Be heavily involved in driving the team to analyze operational events in order to identify new automation opportunities and help us achieve our vision of all Tier-1 faults in the network being fully remediated by software. When appropriate, provide hands-on management and leadership during analysis, goal definition, design, solution development, plan socialization, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases. International and Domestic travel may be required up to 25% of the time. Analyzing tactical situations, troubleshooting, root causing systems and tools, and problem solving via tasks or larger cross functional projects. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of work experience in operating, deploying, and/or designing network, optical, and/or physical layer infrastructure. Experience with large-scale systems is a plus. Experience with establishing and maintaining cross-functional relationships that help teams, stakeholders, and partners define and achieve goals. Familiarity with organizational and digital transformation initiatives at both the strategic and tactical levels. Intermediate understanding of IP Networking/Routing & Switching (TCP/IP, IPv4/v6, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and/or MPLS). Network certifications, such as CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, RHCSA or equivalent experience are a plus. Experience with providing technical guidance to external vendors. Experience identifying key metrics/measures that will be used to evaluate success and validate the business impact of the program is a plus. Familiarity with physical infrastructure design: rack elevations, cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, power/cooling, and facility infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Proven experience to shape organizational and functional design in fast-paced environments, driving effective change and improvement.
