Who you are We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Foundations team within the Remote & Chat Domain, Data & Analytics. Our team supports IKEA’s remote capabilities by building data products behind multichannel contact and resolutions systems and thus enabling comprehensive, holisitc data-analytics across the board. We work across the entirety of customer and coworker journey.In this role, you will help build reliable and scalable data solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making. We are looking for the following: Strong knowledge of advanced data structures, data architecture, distributed computing, and cloud-based services Strong knowledge of any of the cloud-based data warehousing tools such as GCP BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, etc. Strong knowledge of SQL for data processing and analysis Strong knowledge of data-transformation tools such as GCP Dataform, DBT, or analogs. Extensive knowledge of programming languages. We mainly use Python, but experience with other languages is also an advantage Understanding of functional and object-oriented programming paradigms Knowledge of tools for extracting, ingesting, and processing real-time and large datasets Experience with machine learning models, pipelines, and deployment Broad knowledge of digital product development principles and the importance of rapid, validated learning cycles to optimize long-term performance Broad knowledge of modern collaborative software engineering practices, such as Agile and DevOps, where solutions evolve through the efforts of self-organizing, cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of AI infrastructure-related topics, namely semantic layers, data curation, etc. A team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with senior peers, and enjoys sharing knowledge with more junior team members A curious problem solver who wants to keep learning At least 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or Backend Software Engineer This is our wish list. Who you are We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who wants to help us build better data products and strengthen how data supports decision-making across the business. You have strong technical skills in data engineering and enjoy working closely with others to solve real business problems. You are curious, collaborative, and motivated by creating reliable and scalable data solutions that support business planning, forecasting, performance management, and controlling. We believe you have: - Strong knowledge of SQL and data processing - Solid hands-on experience in Python - Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data products - Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure -Good proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure as code - Good understanding of software engineering practices such as Git, Agile ways of working, and DevOps - Experience or proficiency in Finance and Controlling from a data and analytics perspective is a strong advantage - Experience working with different environments such as development, test, and production - Ability to work closely with both technical and business stakeholders You are also someone who takes ownership, enjoys sharing knowledge, and wants to contribute to a strong team culture. What you'll be doing day to day As a Senior Data Engineer, you will contribute to building data solutions that support strategic decision-making and help make data more accessible, reliable, and useful across the business.
