We are now looking for a Game Master The Game Master(s) handle the day-to-day running of the “Galactic War” in Helldivers 2. They attempt to run an engaging and evolving campaign by reacting, anticipating and challenging the players on a community-wide scale. They do this by closely collaborating with multiple other teams to keep the galactic war on track to best lean into upcoming content and community actions. On top of the baseline responsibilities the Game Master - Meta Game Design role focuses on improving the evolving online multiplayer war game of Helldivers 2 - The Galactic War. It is their job to work on improving existing systems and defining the design for new features related to the Galactic War. Who you are: We're looking for an experienced game designer with a strategic and narrative oriented mind who can champion the community experience within the company. Minimum 5 years experience in the games industry as a Game Designer on primarily live service or multiplayer titles; Experience with systems design; Some experience with backend dependent game design; Some experience working together with analytics and paying attention to community feedback; Bonus: UX/UI sensibilities; Bonus: Board game design experience; Great English communication skills are essential, both written and spoken. Good collaboration and communication skills with a cooperative attitude; What you'll do: Shared Game Master Responsibilities Galactic war live operation Runs the LIVE Galactic War Instance, making sure it’s correctly set up with Major Orders, Personal Orders, Modifier Effects, LAMS library, etc. Maintains “War Instances” on all backend environments and is in regular communication with the Backend Team. Observes community commentary outside the game with MarCom Team Inconvenient working hours are expected Less so as our tools and automation improve, however the role of Game Master carries the need to do crisis management if necessary. Specialized GM Responsibilities Galactic war systems design Works with the feature owner to improve the Galactic War, and the Backend Team to improve the GM Tools which executes said Galactic War. Responsible for the Galactic War gameplay design and creates design briefs for systems and features related to the Galactic War Works with backend and gameplay coders to ensure design goals are met during implementation Close collaboration with UX/UI team to ensure Galactic War user experience can steadily improve Galactic War Analysis Proposes a list of key telemetry needed to understand what the community is doing. At Arrowhead, our intention is to provide a live service to our players, not just a static game. That includes providing a treasure chest of toys that grows and grows over the life of the game.We do have items that can be gained by paying real money. However, we are adamantly not making a pay-to-win game, and neither are we pursuing a traditional FOMO-driven battle pass approach. We are modeling a different type of live service, and our monetization goals reflect those values. Are you an experienced Monetization Designer who is interested in working with these constraints? As Build Engineer (DevOps) on the Tech Foundation team at Arrowhead you are part of a multidisciplinary tech team supporting the ongoing development of our game projects. You will work closely with the Tech Product Lead and be responsible for the overall product and service of providing stable scaling build environments infrastructure, support and solutions. Candidates for this role should have a lean approach to development and feel motivated by developing within the Unreal ecosystem. Who you are: We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing and maintaining our build pipelines. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who partners with the Tech Foundation team and Game leadership to proactively identify needs, spot challenges, and suggest solutions. Due to the nature of the role, this will involve having a solid foundation of experience to draw from, and the creative problem solving to apply proven best practice or experiment new techniques, and the judgment to know when to use either approach. We are now looking for an IT Engineer! About the job As an IT Engineer at Arrowhead Game Studios, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. Your primary focus will be to ensure the smooth operation of our systems, networks, and software applications, catering to the unique needs of our game development teams. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your technical expertise while actively contributing to the success of our organization. Your responsibilities - Oversee the day-to-day management and troubleshooting of our IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations - Support and maintain software applications used by various departments, ensuring optimal performance and availability - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process automation and system improvements - Manage user accounts and permissions, troubleshooting access-related issues - Provide technical assistance to colleagues regarding hardware and software issues, offering prompt and efficient resolutions - Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions for future projects - Assist in the procurement and installation of new hardware and software, working closely with vendors and external partners - Promote security awareness and measures across the organization while actively contributing to IT security initiatives Our requirements: - Proven experience as an IT Engineer or similar role, preferably within the gaming industry - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (relevant experience can be considered as an alternative) - Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software-related issues - Strong proficiency in the Windows and Linux operating systems - Experience maintaining and troubleshooting networks, switches, routers, and firewalls - Knowledge and experience of virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V or Docker - Familiarity with industry-standard security practices and protocols (IT security skills a plus) - Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people - Proficient in Swedish and English Nice to have: - Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, MCSE) - Security certifications (e.h. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH) - Previous experience managing IT infrastructure in a game development or entertainment industry environment - Prior exposure to project management methodologies and tools More about you We are looking for someone who considers themselves a generalist.
