THE ROLE The Software Developer Engineer will design, develop, and test control algorithms for Exterior Lighting and Visibility Module Functionalities. The role involves model-based development (MBD) using MATLAB/Simulink, embedded code generation, and alignment with ISO 26262 standards. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: 1. Control Algorithm Development Design and develop control algorithms for exterior lighting systems and body control Modules Utilize MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow for model-based development and simulation of control logic. Perform model-in-the-loop (MIL), and software-in-the-loop (SIL) to validate control strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, systems, and validation engineers to ensure seamless integration. Generate and maintain documentation including control design specifications, test plans, and validation reports. Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standards and other relevant automotive regulations. Participate in design reviews and issue resolution processes. 2. Model Quality & Optimization Conduct model reviews and refactoring to optimize execution time, memory usage, and multicore adaptability. Ensure compliance with MAAB, MISRA, and internal modeling standards. Perform back-to-back testing for model-code consistency. 3. Documentation & Compliance Maintain traceability between requirements, models, and test cases. Create and manage interface specifications, model architecture documents, and test artifacts. Ensure software development aligns with ISO 26262 and ASPICE compliance frameworks. EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEGDE: Extensive experience in automotive embedded software development. Expertise in model-based control design, auto-coded production software, and system-level verification. Deep understanding of control theory and automotive control domains (e.g.,Body control module, Exterior Lighting & Visibility SW, etc.). Proven ability in MIL, and SIL testing Strong grasp of model compliance, verification strategies, and software quality management. Desirable: Experience with adaptive lighting systems, sensor fusion, or vision-based control. Familiarity with CI/CD workflows in model-based environments. Exposure to Vector DaVinci, Jenkins, Git/Gerrit, JIRA, Polarion, or similar tools. THE ROLE The Test Lead will be responsible for leading verification and validation (V&V) activities for different functions across vehicle platforms. This includes defining and driving the V&V strategy, integrating test frameworks within CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring robust test automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive embedded systems, test automation, and XIL testing methods. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: V&V Leadership Define and drive the end-to-end V&V strategy for respective system functions. Establish test coverage matrices, quality gates, and acceptance criteria aligned with automotive safety standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE). CI/CD & DevOps Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate test frameworks within CI/CD pipelines. Implement robust test automation workflows in Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Test Automation Own and grow test automation coverage using industry-standard frameworks and tools such as Python, Robot Framework, or Selenium. Establish automation best practices and reusable test libraries. XIL Testing Expertise Apply and guide the use of MiL, SiL, HiL, and ViL testing methods. Define specific test cases for each XIL level and ensure traceability across the testing pyramid. Test Strategy & Planning Develop comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans per software increment. Include risk-based testing approaches and resource allocation plans. Execution Oversight Supervise test execution, defect triaging, and risk tracking. Implement efficient issue management workflows and escalation paths for critical defects. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and support a team of ~25 test engineers. Drive performance management and technical upskilling initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with software developers, function owners, and key stakeholders. Facilitate requirements clarification and quality alignment sessions. Test Infrastructure Enablement Identify and manage enablers for test readiness and automation. Oversee the setup and maintenance of test environments and vehicle test fleets. Reporting & Governance Deliver regular reports, KPIs, and lead technical governance meetings. Implement metrics for real-time visibility into test coverage and quality trends. EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE: Technical Skills: Strong background in V&V for automotive embedded systems. Experience with CI/CD & DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps). Proficient in test automation (Python, Robot Framework, etc.). Solid understanding of XIL methods (MiL, SiL, HiL, ViL). Tooling Proficiency: Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM). Programming knowledge in C, C++, Python, or Java. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience within OEMs or Tier-1 automotive suppliers. Valid driver's license (Category B). THE ROLE Experienced System Design Engineer with should have already worked on-site on various projects with relevant skills and experience to perform the services. In this role you will have a structured approach used to develop and integrate various vehicle systems, ensuring they work harmoniously to meet safety, performance, and compliance requirements. It involves defining system architecture, analyzing requirements, and integrating hardware and software components. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY Maintain and govern the System and component requirement structure within the designated Requirement Management Tool (e.g Carweaver ), ensuring traceability and version control. Define and secure the System Components communication interfaces including signal definitions and ECU allocation, to provide clear and actionable input for software developers. Ensure proper alignment & documentation of System requirements and design assumptions with all relevant stakeholders, including hardware, software, testing, functional safety, and supplier teams. EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEGDE Extensive experience in automotive system engineering, preferably within an OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment. Solid understanding of Systems Engineering principles, including the V-model, SYS.1/SYS.2/SYS.3 levels, and interface definition. Hands-on experience working with requirement management tools, especially CarWeaver, or similar tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Elektra and System weaver. Familiarity with automotive ECU architecture and distributed systems design.
