Data Scientist

Would you like to play a key part in Toca Boca’s Research and Insights Team? With over 60 million monthly active users and terabytes of daily data, in the role of a Data Scientist you will play an integral role in understanding and developing how our users engage with our games, helping to create fantastic play experiences for kids. Our team is a unique blend of all player insights functions, namely data science, data engineering, business intelligence as well as market and user research. What you’ll be doing As a Data Scientist at Toca Boca you will work closely with our Stockholm game studios helping product teams for existing and upcoming games understand and improve how players engage with their games. By leveraging your data skills to analyse player behaviour and preferences you will help us create more engaging, fun, and rewarding gaming experiences, ensuring that our games not only meet but exceed the expectations of our millions of players. You will closely collaborate with product teams to monitor game performance, offering actionable insights for prioritisation across your studios and games. With the game teams you design A/B tests and define their success criteria, ensure the availability of required data, carry out quantitative analysis to evaluate outcomes, and suggest optimisation steps. Is this you? You are a seasoned Data Scientist with solid experience working with both SQL and either Python or R for analytical coding. You have good knowledge of statistical distributions and statistical modelling, and can tailor your data visualisations for ad-hoc reporting as well as specialised dashboards. You have stakeholder management experience, with a keen sense of product needs and the ability to listen, question, and translate requirements into data solutions while managing expectations across diverse groups. In your analyses you are good at balancing detail with the bigger picture. You are a team player who is good at unblocking the team and driving a high standard for quality and ease of improvement. Market Researcher - (12 month temp cover)

Do you want to inspire, guide and lead others to uncover meaningful user and market insights? You’ll be part of the Research & Insights team here at Toca Boca and its sister studios Noid and Nørdlight, located here in Stockholm and sharing the same studio space. This is a role for collaboration and exploration with everything research and insights related, with a focus on market research and quantitative analysis. You’ll have daily interactions with another market researcher and user researchers, working together towards the same goal, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. What you’ll be doing Together with our research team you will conduct, analyze and present market research findings but also take part in planning the overall research strategy. You are an important link between the Research & Insights team and the different stakeholders at Toca Boca, Noid and Nørdlight, from teams such as Marketing, Product, Partnership and more. You will be responsible for planning market research activities, including our brand tracker, and buying reports and studies that can support the team's decision making. You will visualize and communicate the gathered insights and foresights in inspiring and engaging ways. Together with the rest of the Research and Insights team you will also follow through to help stakeholders implement those findings. Is this you? You are an experienced market researcher who is used to working with various quantitative research methods to gain insights, and you are interested in working with kids as the main user group. You have previous research experience in questionnaire design, and are comfortable with scripting surveys and processing research data through survey software tools. You have the ability, and experience, to drive primary research projects from start to finish. Release Manager

Do you want to work with an app loved by kids all around the world? Toca Life World has millions (and millions) of users with more and more kids discovering the app every day. It’s a live platform for true open-ended play, an ever-expanding space where kids can tell any story they like. As the Release Manager for Toca Life World you’ll ensure that new content is successfully released on a regular basis, constantly surprising and delighting kids around the world. What you’ll be doing As part of a small release team you’ll be managing the release process for your project. You’ll work to continuously improve the process and set us up for success as we start releasing content more frequently. You’ll manage risk and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality. You’ll make sure the app is in good health at all times, and ensure any deviations are handled. Communication is key in this role, and you’ll be in close contact with the Product Owner, Lead Producer, Tech Director and Producers, keeping stakeholders and teams informed of progress and any changes in release plans. You’ll make sure everyone is updated on release scope and any roadblocks ahead. To stay ahead of the game you’ll keep up to date with requirements and any changes related to our platforms. Is this you? You have relevant experience from a previous role in release management, QA or production, and have worked with CI/CD tools. You’re used to working with regular live releases and technically complex products, within either the games industry or in app development. To efficiently manage and coordinate the release processes, you’re highly organised and have previous experience from either project management or being in a lead role. You’re comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, and know how to communicate and collaborate effectively to get the job done on time, at all times. Senior Backend Developer

As a Senior Backend Developer at the Central Tech team of Toca Boca, you’d oversee backend improvements, refine shared services, and promote TypeScript, enabling game developers and enhancing backend effectiveness. What you’ll be doing As a Senior Backend Developer at Central Tech, you will be leading a lot of the work to really make our backend stack a platform and with that, let the Game Team developers focus on building the best possible game. You will be creating processes and tools and introducing best practices for things like verifying the quality of our services, vetting third party packages or handling security for backend services. Together with the rest of the team, you will define and set up common levels of monitoring of backend services, and create tooling to let platform users (developers) get the telemetry they need. You’ll support the team by ensuring sustainable development processes and workflows. You will support and coach the other developers in the company to really embrace TypeScript. You’ll be leading work with our existing, shared services, making sure they are as efficient as possible, and as needed, migrate services built on other platforms to TypeScript/NestJS.
