You’ll work closely with fellow Software Engineers, Product Designers, and Product Managers to ship LLM-driven features such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, intelligent assistants, and automation, built for reliability, security, and great UX. Our Tech Team Lead will manage and support your work, while reporting directly to our VP of Engineering. A glimpse into our tech stack: Python, SQL, Terraform, hosted on AWS, plus an AI stack that includes LLM APIs/open-source models, vector databases/similarity search, retrieval pipelines, evaluation tooling, and observability for production AI. Your Mission Build and ship LLM-powered product features (RAG, assistants, semantic search). Productionize AI systems with guardrails, monitoring, evals, and cost/latency control. Partner with product/design/engineering to turn use cases into measurable outcomes. Build and maintain key platform features, APIs, and services, prioritizing scalability, reliability, and top-tier performance. Provide direction and strategic insight on data related topics. Additionally you will Drive ideas and develop concepts from a tech perspective. Explore ideas iteratively and refine them into production-quality solutions. Contribute to improving the architecture, tech stack, and operational methods. Improve our AI development workflow to support safe and reliable production AI. Follow and promote good engineering practices to deliver high-quality products. Engage in code reviews and foster a culture of continuous learning through constructive feedback. You’ll Thrive in This Role If You... 4+ years of professional team-based software development experience, with at least some experience building ML/AI-powered features or systems in production. Experience working with scalable, product-based environments, where you’ve shipped user-facing features and care about latency, reliability, and real-world constraints. Solid understanding of backend systems and data modeling, enough to build reliable text retrieval, integrate with existing services, and reason about data quality, privacy, and access control in AI workflows. Passion for applied AI, including prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings/vector search, LLM evaluation, fine-tuning, and model serving. Strong collaboration skills and an open-minded approach to exchanging ideas. Fluent in English and a team player who values diverse perspectives. The Role  As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and coach a cross-functional team of 6–8 engineers across frontend, backend, and AI/ML. Your focus will be on building a high-trust, accountable environment where engineers take ownership of their work and grow their skills, while also contributing to technical initiatives and ensuring reliable delivery. You’ll balance people leadership with hands-on engagement, guiding outcomes and helping individuals grow. Your Mission Partner with your Product Manager to plan, scope, and deliver roadmap goals that drive customer and business impact. Own selected technical projects, often with suppliers or partners, ensuring smooth execution from requirements to rollout. Build a healthy, high-trust team by setting clear expectations, coaching individuals, and empowering engineers to take ownership of their growth and delivery. Raise the team’s competence and practices by championing effective rituals, continuous learning, and strong communication. Ensure system health and reliability through meaningful monitoring, observability, and post-mortem learning. Promote engineering excellence by driving quality, CI/CD, and operational readiness before launch. Act as a facilitator-leader - guiding trade-offs, unblocking decisions, and creating space for experts to excel. Continuously improve how the team works by introducing better ways of working and helping the org adopt them. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Co-own backlog, scope, and planning with the Product Manager. Run effective execution rituals (standups, planning, reviews) with transparent risk management. Lead feedback conversations, performance reviews, and growth plans. Partner with the Tech Lead on architecture decisions and technical strategy; contribute code when it’s high leverage. Coordinate work with suppliers/partners and manage integrations. Oversee access management, compliance, and KPI/observability work. Lead by example and contribute to the codebase, such as solving bugs or deliver on features. Additionally, You Will Promote good engineering practices and constructive code reviews. Foster a learning culture that values feedback and continuous skill development. Influence platform roadmap and tech stack evolution. Balance short-term delivery with long-term sustainability and simplicity. The Role As a Senior Platform Engineer at SAVR, you will be part of our tech organization helping build and evolve the next generation investment platform. Your primary focus will be on designing, improving and operating our cloud platform, enabling our engineering teams to build, deploy and run services efficiently and securely. While this role is centred around infrastructure and platform engineering, you'll occasionally contribute to backend services and integrations where it creates the most value. You'll collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Designers and Product Managers to build scalable solutions and continuously improve our developer experience. Our infrastructure is built on AWS and managed through Terraform, with CI/CD powered by GitHub Actions, alongside some GCP and a handful of third-party services. Our services are built in Kotlin, PHP and Python and run on ECS, with data in Aurora, PostgreSQL and Snowflake. As we continue to grow, so does the need for a cloud platform that is reliable, secure, observable and enjoyable to build on—and that's where you come in. Your Mission Own and evolve our AWS platform, including networking, infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, observability, backups, cloud governance and cost optimization. Drive technical improvements across cloud architecture, CI/CD, automation, developer experience and operational tooling, reducing toil through smart tooling and abstractions. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to build cloud-native solutions, integrations and infrastructure that enable product development. Support backend teams with infrastructure expertise and occasionally contribute to application development when needed. Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, security and cost efficiency. Foster our learning culture by actively participating in feedback sessions, both receiving and providing constructive feedback on code and infrastructure changes. You’ll Thrive in This Role If You... Are a Platform Engineer or Software Engineer with strong experience building and operating cloud platforms. Have solid experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, Docker, ECS and/or EKS, and observability tooling. Have 5+ years of professional experience designing, building and operating cloud-based systems in production environments. Enjoy working in a startup environment where you can take ownership, solve a wide range of technical challenges and collaborate across disciplines.
