Senior Systems Engineer

As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards. Fleet Sweden is building a data collection system consisting of vehicles with numerous sensors, e.g., cameras, lidars and GPS. The purpose of the collection is to provide training and validation data for the development of autonomous cars. The system orchestrates several hardware components, records their data, and provides visual guidance for the drivers of the collection vehicle. The system is designed with modularity and scalability in mind, to be easily adaptable to a variety of car makes and models, configurations, and hardware setups. What you'll get: Dirty hands, a lot of cables and manuals, as well as being part of a great team that moving the boundaries for autonomous driving Technologies that we work with: Inertial navigation systems, LiDARs, ethernet probes, CAN, SOME/IP, data loggers Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Applies Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions while ensuring system-level requirements and standards are met. Performs functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications and to define and align with standards for hardware and software. Develops and analyzes system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Collaborates with own team and other teams to complete project work, including implementing and testing features and verifying the accuracy of systems. Develops new and innovative ideas (e.g. IDFs) for a product or feature area. Drives triage of problems at the system level to determine root cause and presents results of testing and debugging to team members. Level of Responsibility: Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group. Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc. Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions). Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
