Shift manager - DRI plant: In this role you’ll lead a diverse team to ensure smooth daily operations while upholding safety and quality standards. Responsibilities: For this role we are looking for candidates that feel comfortable using their problem-solving and collaboration skills to contribute to the company. Responsibilities are (but not limited to): Apply your knowledge to optimize resource consumption, collaborating with DR Plant Management to ensure profitability, quality, and productivity while supporting smooth plant start-ups, shutdowns, and troubleshooting. Lead, guide, and mentor a team that may include process operators, mechanics, electricians, and instrument and automation technicians, fostering a positive, high-performance, and safe work environment. Qualifications: Extensive experience in refractory installation and specialized knowledge in refractory dry-out processes to ensure operational integrity. A professional diploma in Metallurgy, Chemical or Process Engineering or another related field is required. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of HDRI and Briquette operations, including associated equipment and safety practices. Willing to work in shifts. Process Operator – Warehouse Key Responsibilities Ensure the safe loading of coils into rail cars and onto trucks, strictly following all safety protocols and handling guidelines. Use scanning tools to verify label accuracy, ensuring materials are correctly stored in the warehouse and dispatched to the correct destinations. Receive, inspect, register, and manage incoming goods and materials. Pick, pack, and load goods using equipment such as forklifts. Perform open packaging inspections to verify product condition and compliance with quality standards. Plan and monitor deliveries, coordinate warehouse storage, and optimize the use of storage capacity to maintain an efficient material flow. Monitor and control the movement of goods and materials, ensuring smooth logistics and accurate documentation. Support the onboarding and training of new team members by sharing knowledge and promoting safety and operational efficiency. What you’ll do Right now, we are looking for a Refractory Lead within our Refractory operation within the meltshop. In this role you will report to our Refractory Manager Tommy Almqvist. The team is responsible for overseeing all refractory activities in the Meltshop area, including EAF, LMF, RH, and Caster. We will have two refractory leads hired within this area, one of which is already hired and we're now recruiting for the second lead. You'll support each other within the daily work and will divide the responsibilites between each other. This role involves managing day-to-day refractory operations, ensuring that refractory processes and equipment function efficiently and safely. As a Refractory Lead you'll support the Refractory Manager in teaching and mentoring the personnel within the refractory in best performance and practices, overseeing and guiding within maintenance schedules and making sure the operation is running as intended. Here are some of the day-to-day responsibilities within the role of the Refractory Lead: Teach and mentor new employees in the refractory area in how to install different refractory objects and support them in growing into their respective refractory operator roles. Support in troubleshooting and repair in EAF, LMF, RH and Caster area. Support the Refractory Manager in coordinating maintenance and training activities and collaborate with other areas for production and automation teams. Plant Metallurgist The Plant Metallurgist ensures policies, procedures and all activities are carried out to support Stegras goals and objectives at the Site level and in the Product Development and Quality Department as assigned. Responsibilities: Uphold a high integrity for Stegra Systems while supporting Quality, Environmental and Safety Systems. Coordinate with operations to determine unit capabilities for streamlining order processing. Participate in the inquiry process for timely acceptance / denial of orders outside capability limits. Ensure tracking for all new trial orders through the system. Manage order entry Metallurgy and L3 process instructions as required for new and existing grades and routings. Work with Product Development, Quality Group and Sales on new grade development and qualifications. Prioritize responsibilities to support prompt order approval and disposition of production coils to ensure customer satisfaction for support of scheduling and customer lead times. Work with Customer Solution Specialists to expedite to accommodate customer requests. Ensure Management of Change (MOC) practices are well defined and followed. Assist in internal reject and customer claim investigations to determine root cause. Support all departments as needed to strengthen Stegra profitability and continual improvement efforts. Carry out the assigned duties of a Team Member to support Project Management. The Engineering & Performance Optimization Lead has a key role in ensuring the successful com missioning, startup, and long-term operational excellence of the Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) plant. This position will collaborate closely with OEM engineering team s during the design and com missioning phases, then transition into the operations team to benchmark, analyze, and optimize plant performance against global DRI industry standards.
