About the role We are looking for a quality assurance & validation tester to join our virtualization test team. In this role, you act as an internal customer and evaluate how the system behaves in real use cases across embedded, cloud‑based and virtualized environments. Your focus is on performance, robustness and user‑centred behaviour — understanding what works, what doesn’t, and why. You will validate practical workflows such as logging into portals, accessing cloud features and running embedded functionality. By challenging the system through exploratory and non‑functional testing, you uncover unexpected behaviour and provide clear go/no‑go decisions for each delivery. What you will do You will work hands‑on with behaviour‑driven testing, validating user stories, capabilities and complete user flows. You explore how the system responds under different conditions, verify stability when new features are introduced and identify issues that appear outside predictable scenarios. In addition, you will: You assess each delivery and give a clear go/no‑go decision grounded in actual test results Validate reproducibility in virtualized environments Compare performance between virtualization and target hardware Run integration scenarios with multiple virtual components Apply fault‑injection techniques to expose weaknesses Check timing, synchronization and behaviour under varying load Assess scalability in larger virtual setups Investigate undocumented or unexpected system responses Who you are You have a background in software testing and a natural curiosity for how systems behave in practice. You look beyond written requirements and focus on what users actually need. You enjoy isolating problems, identifying root causes and helping the team deliver stable, reliable functionality. Required skills & experience Solid background in software testing Ability to design and execute test cases Familiarity with exploratory testing methods Understanding of performance‑focused and other non‑functional testing Capability to test embedded or hardware‑related functionality Ability to validate user journeys and act as an internal customer Confidence in providing clear go/no‑go decisions It's a plus if you have Knowledge of QEMU or similar virtualized environments Exposure to hardware‑in‑the‑loop test setups Familiarity with safety‑related test documentation Experience validating cloud‑based functionality Why join? In this role, you work close to the product and play a key part in ensuring that every delivery is reliable and user‑ready. You help developers understand real system behaviour, uncover weak spots and contribute to a more stable and predictable platform. You’ll join a modern engineering environment where clarity, curiosity and hands‑on problem‑solving are central. Coretura is a joint venture between Volvo Group and Daimler Truck, building a standardized, open and scalable software‑defined vehicle platform for the next generation of commercial vehicles. Based in Gothenburg, we focus on high‑performance computing, core vehicle software and modern developer tools, enabling faster and smarter digital innovation.
