The main purpose of the Sustainable Technology Laboratory building is to accommodate a laboratory for sustainable technology focusing on battery electrical vehicles and fuel cell vehicles. The STL building will include test cells for system testing of electrical driveline units, fuel cells and batteries as well as charging. The assignment includes but is not limited to:  * Battery electrical module test according to test specification * Planning of verification scope and developing test setups and methodology * Planning and coordinating verification scope regarding test setups and test equipment usage * Execution of test according to test specifications * Quality assurance of test data and meta data results.  * Develop methods for test set-up and verification of battery hardware * Experience in Python/ C++ programming  * Experience in test reporting * Knowledge in usability and set-up of electrical test equipment and measurement equipment is meritorious  * Performing electrical module testing both in-house and also at external test facilities, while travelling is required from time to time.  Some other responsibilities also come into consideration. We have responsibilities within product management, customer adaptation, geometrical assurance, proactive quality, physical verification and build updates. The section consists of approx. 30 people, divided in 3 teams. We work together with many colleagues with different technical skills and cultures, which give you the opportunity to develop yourself, and at the same time, contribute with your open mind, energy, passion, and respect for the individual. Role description Chassis development department works with installation of complete chassis for FH/FM/FMX and are responsible for the complete chassis delivery. The complete chassis consist of a number of variants which could be combined in many ways which creates a huge complexity. We are constantly increasing our product change portfolio along with new technologies such as battery electric vehicles and fuel cell technology. When product changes are initiated, we need to break down the initiatives, and see how we are impacted within our department, group by group.  As a Geometrical Prestudy Architect, you will work in a team of experienced coworkers, supporting the on-going projects with packaging and conceptual studies. The role also includes investigating product change consequences in new projects, covering the whole scope of chassis. Main Deliveries You will deliver results and installation proposals based upon your findings through geometrical/packaging investigations. You will also have the opportunity to share your studies in early phases with all Product Owners within the department. Design engineers will turn to you with questions connected to our complete scope, geometrically speaking. You will also be our chassis representative in different fora’s when it comes to pre-studies concerning chassis department. You will not be dedicated to a single project but will be contributing to follow the development of the chassis over time. This will be done by close cooperation with product management team for respective product change initiative, and through your contribution to the department’s future road maps for respective area. You will be included in many different pre-study teams and be aware of what is being changed in complete chassis and other commodities impacting us. An important task is to share information between these fora’s and within our department. By doing this you will contribute to find the best complete solution and strive towards of our main goal to secure modularity and develop as efficient products as possible. You will not be alone! As a team we have the best complete vehicle knowledge available about how we need to develop our future trucks. Who are you? We believe that you have an engineering degree within mechanical engineering area or similar, with a strong drive, high focus and curiosity.  Preferably you have a background within or connection to chassis department.  You are not afraid of taking initiatives, standing on the frontline to make sure things happen. You are thorough and have a high sense of order.  As the rest of the team, you are target oriented and accountable for the tasks you take on. You are a team player with innovation skills and a true technical interest.  Experience with complete trucks—especially chassis packaging, layouts, and components/systems—is a strong advantage, as is familiarity with Volvo systems such as KOLA and Creo Parametric.
