How you'll make an impact Make people grow by delivering HVDC Valves product and maintenance training for both customers and internal personnel — on site in Ludvika or at customer locations worldwide. Keep the HVDC GI Valves technical training portfolio aligned with the latest product updates, R&D product development projects, and branch standards. Develop, revise, and structure training materials, presentations, and documentation, ensuring clarity and technical accuracy. Coordinate and schedule training activities, securing trainers, facilities, and timelines in collaboration with project and customer training teams. Ensure the HVDC Valves Training & Certification Center is used effectively, safely, and kept up to date with the appropriate training equipment and configurations. Represent the organization in internal and external contexts, contributing to a consistent, professional, and technically robust training offering. Your Background Experience in technical training, ideally with a clear industry context. Strong ability to coordinate and plan training activities, preferably in a global, project-driven environment. Comfortable collaborating with several technical functions to ensure training content reflects the latest product versions. Skilled in creating and maintaining training presentations, manuals, and structured documentation. Familiar with or can show a strong interest in learning about HVDC systems, power electronics, or industrial equipment. A proven team player with strong leadership skills, capable of guiding groups both in training situations and during internal problem-solving activities. Experience working in environments with strict HSE standards and commitment to safe workshop and site practices. A structured way of working, particularly in a training context. A willingness and ability to travel internationally to support training delivery at customer sites and other Hitachi Energy locations (travelling approximately 2–3 weeks per 6-month period). Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Swedish fluency is not required; however, you need to be able to communicate and make yourself understood in a professional work environment. The Opportunity HVDC is a technology that allows for an efficient and clean transmission of electricity over long distances, the interconnection of different grids and supports the green energy transition by allowing renewable energy to be interconnected to the grid. The team at HVDC Products are designing, manufacturing and testing the converter valves for HVDC and SVC applications. As a Project Engineer, you will be part of the Valve Cooling System team. The Valve Cooling System is a pressurized closed loop system with air cooled heat exchangers to dissipate power losses generated in high power converter valves. It is designed to meet the HVDC and Client requirements regarding performance, reliability and low maintenance. Our systems consist of pumps, vessels, filters, measuring devices, heat exchangers, interconnecting piping and redundant control and protection systems. How you'll make an impact By following the established HVDC processes, you will be onboarded as an engineer and get acquainted with the technology. After onboarding, you will be involved in a project as a support resource and go through the journey of a Cooling System engineer. The cooling system engineer creates the requirement specifications for the cooling systems, reviews the documentation from suppliers, clarifies technical points with clients and suppliers and participate on testing of the cooling systems for HVDC projects. The position requires sporadic travelling and working at suppliers’ facilities to perform system test (a period of one week, a few times per year. Site travelling can also happen, both for work and learning purposes.
