What we offer Proving Grounds is a Section within the Department “Prototype Build & Verification” with 8 teams and a total of 160 employees. Our main purpose is to operate and development our Proving Grounds and test facilities and deliver result to customers.  The test driver teams consist of approximately 50 test drivers, divided into Night shift, A- and B-shift. The main responsibility is to perform complete vehicle testing according to a diverse set of test codes. Main responsibility of the group is to deliver both best in class vehicle reports concerning deviations and faults as well as mileage and cycles on test cars. The team supports vehicle testing at the proving grounds as well as globally by participating on number of expeditions and acts as a general resource within the company when expert drivers are needed. What you will do Main responsibility of the test driver is to perform complete vehicle testing according to customer specifications. Test scope vary from detailed reporting of deviations and faults in English using VIRA report tool to pure mileage and cycle accumulation tests. The test methods cover a wide range of areas, but the main areas of testing are base engine testing, durability testing, and reliability validation. As a test driver you will be responsible for planning your workday in order to meet each customer expectations. As a test driver you will work 2-shift according to a 6 – week cycle including one weekend. All drivers follow an internal education program were the driver starts with simpler tests at relatively low speed and then grow into more advanced and demanding test codes over a period of approximately 2 years.  To be successful in the role as test driver you also need to:  • Actively contact item owner/customer and describe the problems.  • Initiate and perform base analysis of found problems including reading fault codes • Be able to use different log equipment to collect applicable data/recordings to pinpoint the problems  • If applicable at test end, show the test car to appropriate audience and write reports • Be able to represent the customer in the specific project/segment and provide a customer-oriented perspective on the complete vehicle experience  • Deliver mileage and deviation reports to the complete vehicle projects Do You fit the profile?  We believe that you have at least 3-year high school in technical specialization or equivalent work experience. Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and a strong urge to develop and improve our products.  You have an interest for new technology a talent for vehicle software and good general computer experience.  Furthermore, to be considered for this position you need to have a B driver’s license and pass the driving test at Hällered Proving Ground. Please note that you can’t have previous injuries or problems with your neck and/or back since you will spend quite some time on a daily basis driving cars.  This role is based in Hällered. Pilot Plant är en utvecklingsavdelning inom Engineering med huvudansvar att bygga fysiska provobjekt för produkt- och processverifiering. Vill du vara med på ett tidigt stadium och arbeta med företagets kommande produkter innan många andra? Då kan rollen som Robot och Simuleringstekniker vara platsen för dig att utvecklas på. Vi är idag 22 medarbetare fördelade på olika ansvarsområden, projektledning, robotsimulering, fogningsmetodik och områdesansvariga. Tillsammans kvalitetssäkrar vi provobjekt så som karosser och delsammansättningar i stål, aluminium och kompositmaterial. Vårt mål är att på ett tidigt stadium upptäcka och korrigera så många avvikelser som möjligt för att kunna leverera produkter i världsklass från våra fabriker runtom i världen. Vad kommer du att utföra? Som Robot och Simuleringstekniker kommer du inom en tvärfunktionell verksamhet hantera produkten i en virtuell miljö, för att sedan simulera hur vi på bästa sätt tillverkar den. Du arbetar med processberedning, simulering, online/offline -programmering, robotprogrammering samt har driftansvaret över ett ansvarsområde. Tjänsten innebär en mix av administrativt- och verkstadsarbete. Du kommer att ha ett nära samarbete med ME och konstruerande avdelningar och få möjligheten att delta i utvecklingsfasen av produkten i diverse forum. Du kommer dessutom medverka på Design Review möten vid framtagning av ny utrustning i ditt ansvarsområde. Du kommer att göra processplanering i Teamcenter och simulering och offline-programmering görs i Process Simulate. Även provkörning av robotprogram mot fysisk produkt och utrustning ingår i arbetet. Under byggnation av prov-serier är du även drift-ansvarig för dina stationer. Vem är du? Vi ser att du har teknisk gymnasieexamen, yrkeshögskola eller motsvarande arbetslivserfarenhet med goda kunskaper och erfarenheter från installationer av automatiserad utrustning. Du har även erfarenhet av arbete med robotar, robotprogrammering och virtuell byggnation. Även analys, fogningsmetodik och kunskaper inom karossbyggnation, produktutvecklingsprocessen och bra kvalitetskunnande. Vi ser även att du har mycket goda kunskaper på CAE simuleringsverktyg, huvudsakligen Process Design, Simulate och Team Center och Visualization Mockup. Då vi arbetar med externa leverantörer är det viktigt att du har kunskap i engelska och svenska i tal och skrift. Vi ser även att du har B-körkort samt truckkort. Är du den vi söker? Du har en har en god analytisk förmåga, ställer höga krav på kvalitet och tillämpar ett strukturerat arbetssätt med ett utpräglat säkerhetstänk, men eftersom arbetet är händelsestyrt behöver du också en stor förståelse kring att planer kan förändras. För att du ska trivas i rollen krävs det att du är öppen för förändringar och van att prioritera om. För att lyckas i rollen som Robot och Simuleringstekniker är struktur, initiativkraft och flexibilitet viktiga.  Du är en naturligt teamorienterad person, men har också förmågan att ta stort ansvar vid eget arbete. ACDC & DCDC HW – let’s introduce ourselves  At Engineering & Operations (E&O), you will be a key contributor to the next generation of outstanding luxury Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) at Volvo Cars. Collaborating with global engineers, you and your team will create innovative human-centered car technology, simplifying and enhancing people's lives.  As part of our ACDC & DCDC HW group, consisting of approximately 15 engineers, you'll contribute to various products focusing on ACDC and DCDC technologies. If this aligns with your interests and aspirations, we invite you to join us on our journey toward excellence.  What You’ll Do  As a Lead Designer Engineer within our team, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of ACDC & DCDC Converters into our vehicle systems.   Main responsibilities * Secure ingoing requirements to establish Design Prerequisites, Technical Regulations, and Compliance Agreements with suppliers, fostering a clear understanding of project objectives and expectations.  * Take the lead in managing Tier1 suppliers, overseeing technical design reviews and facilitating joint reviews to ensure alignment with project timelines, technological requirements, and budgetary constraints.  * Take ownership of the project time plan to secure correct product maturity for each milestone. Regularly report out status and progress to the project.  * Drive verification activities to validate design integrity and compliance, meticulously following up on results to maintain project momentum and quality standards.  * Spearhead Change Management and Cost Engineering efforts, continuously evaluating opportunities for improvement while managing budgetary considerations.  * Conduct comprehensive benchmarking exercises to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, leveraging insights to inform design decisions and drive innovation.  * Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across Propulsion & Energy departments, recognizing the importance of cross-functional cooperation in realizing optimal solutions for future implementation.  In summary, as a Lead Designer Engineer, you’ll play a key role in driving the success of our projects by ensuring compliance with technical requirements, fostering supplier relationships, and facilitating seamless collaboration across departments.  What You’ll Bring  To thrive in this role, you should possess interpersonal skills, fostering seamless collaboration and effective communication with colleagues, engineering partners, and suppliers.
