The opportunity Hitachi Energy Transformers is seeking a strategic and systems‑oriented Innovation Framework Architecture Lead to shape how Open Innovation is designed, governed, and scaled across our global transformer value chain. In this role, you will define the architecture, lifecycle, and governance of our Open Innovation offerings, ensuring they are repeatable, scalable, and tightly connected to strategic priorities and long‑term business needs. You will operate at the intersection of innovation strategy, service design, and execution enablement, translating insights and ambition into structured innovation products that drive tangible value. Working within the Global Innovation Organization, you will collaborate closely with R&D, Product Management, Strategy, Operations, and Business Development, as well as external partners such as startups and innovation ecosystems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity, has experience scaling innovation programs, and is motivated by building durable frameworks rather than one‑off initiatives. How you’ll make an impact Architect and develop a portfolio of Open Innovation offerings, including startup challenges, venture‑clienting models, venture building approaches, and capability‑building programs. Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle and roadmap of innovation offerings, from concept definition and validation through governance, rollout, and continuous improvement. Design service blueprints, value propositions, and delivery models that ensure clear value for internal business owners, startups, and ecosystem partners. Establish governance models, readiness criteria, and success metrics, ensuring offerings are scalable, consistent, and impactful across regions. Drive cross‑functional alignment by collaborating with R&D, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, SCM, Legal, Quality, Sustainability, HR, Sales & Marketing, and Business Development to enable strong adoption. Work closely with scouting and innovation operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to execution and continuous learning from delivery. Translate innovation activities into strategic insight, preparing business cases, dashboards, and performance materials for senior leadership. Enable regional execution through playbooks, toolkits, training, coaching, supporting globally aligned and high‑quality delivery. Your background Degree in Engineering, Innovation Management, Product Management, Business Innovation, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in innovation and/or product management, venture‑clienting/building, corporate innovation programs, or scaling structured innovation offerings in a global context. Proven hands‑on experience designing, validating, and scaling innovation offerings or programs beyond pilot phase. Strong capability in service design, product architecture, and modular experience design, with the ability to translate user and business needs into scalable structures. Demonstrated experience with accelerators, challenge programs, venture‑clienting, venture building, or capability academies. Strong cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder management skills across technical and business domains. A strategic, analytical, and data‑driven mindset, comfortable defining KPIs and iterating offerings based on insights. A genuine passion for Open Innovation, startup ecosystems, customer‑centricity, and creating measurable business impact.
