Senior Layout Engineer Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Senior Layout Engineer VCT Conventional Drivetrain The VCT Conventional Drivetrain is a dedicated around hundred person strong multi-brand value creation team that is responsible for the development of product solutions for Transmissions, Propshafts and Driven Axles within current programs and towards the TRATON Modular System for all the TRATON brands. Our vision and mission is the following: Vision: Superior Drivetrain solutions for a truly sustainable future Mission: Developing and providing right set of performance steps of conventional drivetrain solutions for the whole TRATON group with unmatched fuel efficiency, quality, uptime and customer satisfaction Your tasks Your mission as the VCT:s dedicated layout engineer will be to lead the strategic layout questions with regards to finding modular solutions in our product development projects securing an efficient use of our TRATON modular system. You will lead the VCT weekly “Layout meeting” securing structured fly-in work towards design freeze milestones, supporting the design engineers from the different teams to secure good design solutions from a function, robustness, producibility, assembly and serviceability perspective. You will assist with clash analysis, DTA:s and general design work when needed. You will work closely with the VCT Triad and be a key player in finding best solutions for the whole TRATON team. Your profile You have a Bacheleror or Masters in an area such as Mechanical Engineering or similar. You are a skilled user of Catia and Enovia and have worked several years with design work in the automotive industry. You have well documented understanding of the TRATON modular system and have hands on experience with installation related challenges. You are driven, helpful, creative, naturally networking and are eager to find technical solutions in collaboration with others listening to every stakeholders input in the process. You speak English well and are structured and pedagogic in your way driving the layout work forward.
