YOUR MISSION AT VOI As a Senior Android Engineer you’re a part of a cross-functional product team with highly skilled peers. The team owns the development and delivery of tools and features that empower our fleet specialists to operate efficiently, from intelligent routing to operational workflows. The team helps ensure smooth fleet operations and high service quality. Your responsibility is to build features that engage and empower our users. This will include: Analysing business requirements, designing and developing high-performance, innovative and useful features together with your team. Ensuring high level of architecture, quality, usability and maintainability of the components and code. Participating in all aspects of product development from detailed programming to high-level system design. You will be the Android expert in the team, while also contributing to data analytics and backend development, embracing a truly cross-functional role. Keeping up to date with the latest trends in Android development. Testing cutting-edge techniques and tools to level up mobile development at Voi. WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK Except having an interest in staying up to date on Android development, we believe the right person has: Senior level experience in Software Engineering. You have deep experience building complex software systems, regardless of how many years you've specifically spent on Android. Experience building native Android applications in Kotlin, with strong understanding of modern Android architecture and patterns, including Jetpack Compose and common frameworks in the ecosystem. Extensive experience working with empowered product teams, where you help shape what to build, not just how. You take end-to-end ownership and care deeply about the user experience and business impact. Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively Experience writing well-structured, testable, reliable, efficient and easily maintainable code. Willingness to traverse the full technical stack. While your focus is Android, you are comfortable diving into backend systems, API design, or CI/CD pipelines to unblock features and deliver truly end-to-end solutions. Proven experience shaping and delivering impactful initiatives. You can take a vague requirement, break it down into a technical roadmap, drive architectural decisions, and guide the execution through to delivery while mentoring others. WHY VOI? We are looking for a highly skilled senior iOS Engineer to join our mobile team in Stockholm. You’ll work hands-on at architectural scale - shaping our mobile architecture, guiding technical decisions, mentoring others, and building new features for millions of aviation enthusiasts. What You’ll Do Work with a team of iOS and Android engineers, designers, QAs, and product owners to deliver high-quality features. Develop features, refactor and modernize our app, and maintain a high-quality codebase. Build and maintain testable, maintainable, and scalable code aligned with iOS best practices. Take ownership of your work while contributing to a collaborative, trust-based team culture. Enhance and expand our comprehensive automated test suite. Maintain and improve our app infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving with your teammates. Take part in coordinating app releases, shared in rotation across the mobile team. Who You Are Several years of professional iOS app development experience, preferably on apps with a large user base. Skilled in leveraging Apple frameworks to build reliable and efficient applications. Strong understanding of architectural patterns and the ability to apply them in complex projects to ensure scalability and maintainability. Proficient in Swift, with strong experience in both UIKit and SwiftUI. Care about writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Experience writing automated tests, including unit and snapshot tests. Prior experience with CI/CD tools, with a focus on improving and streamlining the build, test, and deployment process. Genuine interest in staying up to date with the latest developments in the iOS ecosystem and continuously improving your craft. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams. Prior experience with Google Firebase, MapKit, and/or StoreKit. Comfortable working with Jetpack libraries, Material Design, and the latest Android SDKs. Passionate about code quality, testing, and maintainability. Experienced with unit, UI, and integration testing (JUnit, Espresso, MockK). Familiar with CI/CD systems (Gradle, GitHub Actions, Codemagic, Firebase App Distribution). Proactive, curious, and eager to adopt new tools and best practices. Collaborative communicator who values teamwork, feedback, and shared success.
