Are you a software engineer who wants to make a difference with your code? Do you want to be a part of taking cutting-edge research to the market? We have built an advanced x-ray CT instrument, and we want your help improving our imaging pipeline from acquisition to finished tomographic reconstruction. Our current customers are researchers, and our long-term plan is clinical products for scanning tumors to help cancer patients.

Exciscope is a pioneering tech company built on extensive academic research. We design and build state-of-the-art phase-contrast x-ray tomography systems, setting new standards in resolution and speed. We specialize in producing high-resolution 3D images, particularly excelling in contrast in soft materials, such as biomedical tissues, food, and plastic. The role
As our next Software engineer, you will join our software team where we will mainly be working to develop our data pipeline for processing huge amounts of tomography data rapidly in the cloud, as well as X-ray image acquisition software in the X-ray machine, both in C++ and Python. You will also get to implement image processing algorithms for the data pipelines in CPUs and, in the future, GPUs.

We hope that you have:
- A M.Sc. degree within relevant field,
- At least a couple of years of experience from a similar position,
- 2+ years of experience working with C++, or 4+ years of experience with Python.
If you have worked with cloud platforms for work distribution (such as Dask, Ray, Spark or similar), have been in touch with image processing or other similar mathematical programming such as signal processing or simulations, clinical development (or development with other high-quality requirements such as in automotive, telecom or aeronautics) or web development it is, of course, a plus! While we don’t expect you to have experiences in these areas, we expect you to be interested in learning more about them.
