What you will do

You will support in defining and implementing the battery sustainability strategy and roadmap for all battery products of the Volvo Group Electromobility. Later there is a possibility to extent to other electromobility content as well. You will be one of the go-to persons for the sustainability attribute in our organization. You will part of defining sustainability requirements - incl. recycling, remanufacturing, and repurposing - and help to secure that the development teams are working towards the right targets during product development. You will build and maintain a strong network to communicate and balance stakeholder needs. You will support and monitor the implementation of the sustainability roadmap by defining necessary advanced engineering topics, benchmarking, and pre-studies.  
Responsibilities: 
•    Monitor market trends related to sustainability incl. recycling, remanufacturing and repurposing.
•    Drive the sustainability analysis for our products on status, future targets, and the necessary implementation steps. 
•    Define the necessary Life Cycle Analysis loops, secure the inputs from the different stakeholders and ensure that the organization draws the right conclusions of the results. 
•    Participate in business case analysis around sustainability incl. recycling, remanufacturing and repurposing.
•    Secure the documentation and update of the necessary requirements in the requirement tool to ensure Volvo’s compliance and competitiveness.
•    Support the sustainability roadmap and align with external stakeholders and our technology teams.
•    Further develop the necessary sustainability tools, processes, and methodology.
Your future team
You will belong to the Technology Strategy and Planning function, where sustainability is one key area. We define and drive the sustainability agenda for electromobility. 

Who are you?

You are an expert in the field of electromobility sustainability in the automotive industry. We believe that to be successful in this position you need to be a communicative networker, have an analytic mindset with the ability to generate ideas and have a can-do attitude. We also believe that you have a strong drive to realize the most appropriate Design for Sustainability, the ability to initiate change and decide on facts. You are also well organized and structured with the ability to drive things to completion, and you are actively striving to spread your sustainability knowledge and expertise to others.
You also have:
•    Min 3 years of battery development experience within the automotive industry. 
•    Min. 6 years of product development and stakeholder management experience in large automotive organizations
•    Good knowledge on main influencing parameters for battery/ electromobility sustainability
•    Experience with Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) tools and processes
•    MSc in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronic, Physics or similar


Meritorious:
•    Experience in design of battery components or sub-systems respectively as battery component owner
•    Knowledge on battery repair, remanufacturing, refurbish and 2nd life solutions
•    Knowledge in Volvo Group development and quality processes. 
•    Background in or understanding of commercial vehicle industry and its applications
