Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Staff engineer cell design to join our Västerås team.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Job scope

As a Staff engineer cell design you will be responsible for project leader of cell development for a specific customer.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading cell development project in cell design team
  • Setting up the development strategy and DOEs
  • Co-develop the process concept
  • Responsible for design freeze and BOM cost
  • Technical counter-part of customer and execution customer project
  • Technical lead for internal development with internal stakeholder

Requirements

Qualifications and experience

  • PhD or MSc in chemical engineering/Electrochemistry/chemistry/material science and engineering
  • More than 5 years experiences on the automotive business
  • More than 12 years of practical experience from Li-ion battery cell development
  • Extensive experience on cell design and development of Li-ion cells
  • Extensive experience on large-scale battery fabrication and validation
  • Experience on Li-ion battery manufacturing and mass production
  • Working experience with OEM project for Li-ion battery cell/module business
  • Extensive experience on managing the technical team for customer project
  • Strong background from technical culture and proven engineering excellence
