About the Graduate Program: As a graduate you will have the chance to learn about a specific field of engineering throughout a six months program. The program will consist of joining the team of your choice as a graduate engineer and get the opportunity to be taught by some of the pioneers in the battery industry. Furthermore, you will get exposure through various parts of the organization by participating in monthly forums and lectures. Your learning will further be enhanced by weekly modules on our LinkedIn Learning platform. The modules will primarily focus on success at work and building resilience and funnel into specific lectures as the program runs by. The aim of the program is to provide a supportive platform for ambitious young professionals to sky rocket their career. By taking part in the program, you will get the opportunity to learn and be supported throughout the first six months. You will then continue into full time employment, should the role be a mutual fit. What is a Graduate? You are an individual that is currently finishing your studies and looking to kickstart your career in September of 2024. You should have completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant STEM or Business Administration field. Upon concluding this assignment, your next assignment will be in Gothenburg. The responsibilities for the Manufacturing/Process Engineer role are outlined below. The Manufacturing/ process engineer holds a pivotal role, overseeing equipment design from purchase order to commissioning, and serving as a liaison for integrating lessons learned into future designs. They collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver advanced manufacturing equipment designs, manage FAT, lead commissioning, and support product launches. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cell manufacturing equipment launches and future design upgrades. Key attributes for success include collaboration, time management, design and commissioning expertise, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to take a leadership role in commissioning as needed. Responsibilities: · Take charge of commissioning activities on-site and facilitate a smooth transition to manufacturing. · Spearhead the detailed design process engineering, managing it from purchase order to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for manufacturing equipment. · Lead design reviews and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) sessions with suppliers, and endorse machine design concepts, technical drawings, and documentation. · Offer constructive feedback and direction to suppliers to ensure equipment quality, technical compliance, and adherence to CE standards. · Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) and coordinate process and equipment trials at both supplier and customer manufacturing sites. · Play a central role in defining and releasing standards for manufacturing processes. · Complete HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and risk assessments. · Mentor and train new process engineers and provide support to other functions. Requirements: · BSc or MSc degree in mechanical or chemical engineering. · 3+ years of relevant experience within equipment and process design and engineering related fields. · Knowledge of QA Troubleshooting tools. · Successful track record of leading process improvement projects in a production factory. · Experience from building and scaling production in a fast -growing environment ideally in the battery, automotive, food, pharma, paper & pulp, semiconductor, electrochemical or similar industry. · Curious, technically educated, and preferably with a strong problem-solving background. · Experience and interest in equipment design, process development and commissioning. Senior Process Engineer

Northvolt has exciting job offers for Process Engineers to join our bold project team in Skellefteå. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in designing the expansion of one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society. Senior Process Engineer will be the overall responsible engineer for equipment design after purchase order, FAT at the supplier site all the way to commissioning and process engineering before handover to manufacturing. They will be the liaison between the commissioning lessons learned being translated into future improved design. Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for working with the suppliers and a cross functional NV team to deliver the detailed design of cutting-edge manufacturing equipment all the way through FAT, lead commissioning and provide guidance and directions to launch support teams. This role will allow you to contribute to the launch of cell manufacturing equipment take your current understanding of the equipment and process and utilize it to pave the way for future upgrades and designs. This role requires the ability to collaborate with multiple different teams and personalities, time management skills, design experience, commissioning experience, organizational skills, problem solving skills and willingness to step into and lead commissioning when needed. Deep understanding of the process steps involved in cell manufacturing is not mandatory but a plus.
