You will be a part of our highly skilled Basic Conceptual Design team within the department TKST. This department have one of the most important roles within the HVDC organization. Here we draw and set up the architectural foundations for the Control & Protection delivery, based on the customer requirements, SLD etc. The group is mostly focusing on engineering in the early stages of the projects but also contributing with expert support throughout the whole project execution. You will provide with your technical knowledge withing the Basic Conceptual Design phase in the Control & Protection area and coordinate the work with project managers and other technical teams within the organization. Your responsibilities You will be a part of the HVDC team and be responsible for the Basic Conceptual Design work for our control and protection system Work together with our customers to ensure our delivery is according to their requirements and standards Collaborating and networking with other engineering functions, sharing best practice across different projects To be proactive in finding solutions & to continuously improve the process Coordinating technical interfaces towards other domains during the execution Assessing the risks in the proposed design and take required actions accordingly Your background Bachelor or master’s degree in Power Systems or electrical engineering or similar background. You have great communication skills and can easily seek and find the needed information You have coordinating and planning abilities You have experience from working with Power Systems, Control & Protection Experience with Azure DevOps is valuable. As you will be part of a global business, it is important that you are fluent in English. Knowing Swedish language is meritorious. How you’ll make an impact Conduct ESS Testing: Prepare and perform electrical tests on energy storage systems in our newly developed ESS lab. Lab Development: Contribute to developing the lab's capabilities, procedures, and work processes. Collaborate with ESS Design Team: Work closely with the ESS design team to integrate test findings into their design work and receive inputs from the design team for the testing. Product Testing and Certification: Support Identifying, planning, and specification of necessary product testing and certifications and documentation. Lab Safety: Uphold safety procedures for the lab, ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Ensure you maintain, develop and share knowledge to improve our ability to operate safe in the laboratory environment. Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to enhance functionality, quality, and cost, aiming to increase customer satisfaction, as part of the group developing our lab. Risk Management: Identify and manage risks in R&D projects and the broader organization. Your background Electrical Engineering Degree with experience in testing and working with medium or low voltage products or systems. Understanding of FACTS solutions and energy storage, including the design and testing of components, systems, and circuits, as well as knowledge of related standards, is advantageous. Electrical Testing and Laboratory Safety Expertise. Demonstrated proficiency in electric laboratory work and testing is crucial for success in this role. This includes ensuring a safe and efficient working environment and adhering to electrical safety standards, particularly those relevant to electrical testing and laboratory operations Ability to Work with Oscilloscopes and data acquisition methods and develop test and measurement circuits. Proficiency with Tools such as Matlab, PLC programming and common communication protocols. You are a systematic thinker with a methodical approach to work, proposing solutions based on structured analysis, and you document your work clearly and effectively. Excellent Communication Skills fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish knowledge is a plus.
