The Electrical Valve Design department is part of HVDC Products at Hitachi Energy in Ludvika. We are globally responsible for the electrical design and technical requirements of semiconductor-based HVDC and SVC valves, as well as advanced current measurement solutions for HVDC applications. HVDC valves are critical components used to convert AC to DC (and vice versa), enabling long-distance and high-capacity power transmission. SVC valves are used to support and stabilize AC power systems. In addition, we design digital optical instrument transformers—state-of-the-art, compact current measurement devices tailored for HVDC systems.
