Beskrivning av arbetsplatsen Polismyndigheten är Sveriges största myndighet med ca 38 000 medarbetare och är organiserad i sju polisregioner, ett antal nationella avdelningar samt ett kansli. Nationell forensiskt centrum Nationellt forensiskt centrum, NFC, är en avdelning i Polismyndigheten. I nära samverkan med utredningsverksamheten leder, utvecklar och utför NFC forensiskt arbete för en framgångsrik brottsbekämpning. Avdelningen verkar inom områdena informationsteknik, biologiska spår, kemi och teknik samt droganalys. Vi har tolv driftställen, vårt största labb och vårt avdelningskansli finns i Linköping. Bild- och ljudanalyssektionen Inom sektionen för bild- och ljudanalys har vi en samlad kompetens inom ämnesområdena bild-, video-, och ljudanalys, bild- och ljudrelaterad biometri, jämförande bild- och ljudundersökningar, sensorteknik, forensisk fotografering samt automatisk bildanalys och forensisk AI. Arbetsuppgifter Gruppen Bild- och ljudjämförelse består idag av tolv medarbetare som främst arbetar med att utföra jämförande forensiska undersökningar med koppling till bild och tal i brottsutredningar. En forensisk talarjämförelse utförs i syfte att bedöma huruvida inspelat tal som förekommer i olika ljudinspelningar kommer ifrån samma talare. Inför undersökningarna analyserar du som forensiker inpelat material ur både en ljudteknisk och en fonetisk synvinkel och bedömer dess lämplighet för att utföra undersökningen. Materialet som du bearbetar och bedömer är ljudinspelningar med sitt ursprung i brottsutredningar. Du utför jämförande undersökningar som innefattar bl.a. perceptuella, akustiska och semiautomatiserade analyser. Efter en utförd undersökning sätter du dina resultat i relation till olika hypoteser och referenspopulationer och bedömer hur förväntade/unika resultaten är. Slutligen kommunicerar du dina resultat och bedömningar både skriftligt och muntligt till såväl kollegor som icke ämneskunniga, t.ex. utredare och åklagare. Du kommer via ett internt utbildningsprogram läras upp inom forensik i allmänhet samt inom ämnesområdet, och under utbildningstiden varvas teoretisk utbildning med praktiskt arbete i den ordinarie verksamheten.
