VTI, Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut, är en uppdragsmyndighet som bedriver tillämpad forskning och kvalificerade utredningar inom transportområdet. Vi är cirka 250 medarbetare och har en årlig omsättning på omkring 300 miljoner kronor. Huvudkontoret finns i Linköping medan övriga kontor finns i Stockholm, Göteborg och Lund.Vill du bidra till framtidens hållbara transporter och arbeta för att Sverige ska nå de transportpolitiska målen? Till miljöenheten söker vi nu en forskningsingenjör/utredare med inriktning mot transportsystemets föroreningar. Miljöenheten forskar om transporternas effekter på klimat, miljö och hälsa i form av exempelvis växthusgasutsläpp, buller, luftkvalité, mikroplast och föroreningar i mark och vatten. Forskningsarbetet inkluderar även transportsystemets anpassning till ett förändrat klimat. Vi studerar föroreningars källor, spridning och effekter liksom åtgärder för att motverka problematiken (exempelvis vägdriftsåtgärder som minskar föroreningsspridning). Kunskapsutvecklingen sker i form av både grundläggande och tillämpade forsknings- och utvecklingsprojekt, ofta utförda i nära samverkan med myndigheter och andra aktörer. På enheten genomförs allt från fleråriga forskningsprojekt i samarbete med kommuner, universitet och andra forskningsinstitut till kortare uppdrag gentemot industrin. Vi jobbar såväl nationellt som internationellt och deltar ofta i projekt finansierade av Europakommissionen. Den aktuella tjänsten är placerad i Linköping. Om rollen Du kommer att ingå i en internationellt framstående forskargrupp som studerar transporters hälso- och miljöpåverkande föroreningar i form av exempelvis luftburna partiklar samt generering och spridning av mikroplast i mark- och vattenmiljö. I den forskningsmässiga metoden ingår mätning i fält och laboratorium, statistisk analys, samt modellering av föroreningarnas utbredning och spridning. Studierna har traditionellt fokuserat på vägtrafik men emissioner från samtliga trafikslag är relevanta. Du kommer att vara delaktig i pågående forskningsstudier samtidigt som du bidrar med nya idéer utifrån ditt kompetensområde. Du förväntas också samarbeta med kollegor för att söka forskningsfinansiering. Arbetsuppgifterna innebär kontakter med uppdragsgivare, samarbetspartners och andra forskare nationellt såväl som internationellt. Om dig Du har en naturvetenskaplig eller teknisk examen eller motsvarande samt arbetserfarenhet med en relevant inriktning. Även du med genomförda forskarstudier kan vara aktuell för arbetet. Du kan självständigt sammanställa, analysera och presentera data som är beräknade eller insamlade i fält eller laboratorium. Erfarenhet från emissions- och spridningsmodellering i luft, mark och vatten är meriterande. Önskvärt är även att du har erfarenhet från fältarbete. Kunskaper inom statistik, försöksplanering och programmering är meriterande. Du har lätt för att samarbeta och god förmåga att uttrycka dig såväl skriftligt som muntligt på svenska och engelska. Öppenhet mot tvärvetenskapliga samarbeten som omfattar flera ämnesdiscipliner såsom exempelvis transportekonomi och miljömedicin är en förutsättning. Du har även förmåga att ta egna initiativ och arbeta självständigt. About the Role The Product Integration department at GTC is a dynamic team of approximately 20 experts leading the design and development of future product solutions for commercial engines. We are now looking for an experienced Design Engineer to help us in the task of reaching the goal of sustainable aeroengines. As a design engineer, you will lead the concept generation and the design of engine/demonstrator/test rig components and be responsible for ensuring that they meet both the technical and technology requirements. Job Responsibilities • Contribute to different phases of development of product technology with your skills and expertise in design and definition. • Responsible of the design of components for engine demonstrators, balancing the input from different disciplines (such as aerodynamics, solid mechanics and manufacturing) into a design that meets or exceeds the requirements and/or technology targets. • Identify technology gaps and new possibilities for technology development. • Create and update design data in Siemens PLM (TeamCenter) and CAD software NX including, product drawings, CAD models, geometrical interfaces. • Ensure proper documentation of technical results and present the results internally and externally. • Develop methods for design automation and design optimization. • Contribute to the development of GKN as a 'Great Place to Work', aligned with the core principles: safe, innovative, open & honest, care & respect, and ownership Job Qualifications • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering field. • 5+ years of working experience in aerospace industry as a design engineer. • Knowledge and experience in NX and PLM tool TeamCenter. • Experience of product support work, product development and/or technology development is an advantage. • Experience performing design studies and design changes, creating geometrical interface documentation, creating and updating requirements justification and performing tolerance stack-ups among others. • Knowledge and experience of GD&T (ASME y14.5 and ISO). • Knowledge of manufacturing processes. • Demonstrated programming skills in Python. Experience in NX Open is advantageous. • Proficient in English. Swedish is considered advantageous. Personal Skills You are creative and show the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative design solutions. You also have a technical aptitude with a deep understanding of technical principles and can easily understand the functionality and mechanics of machines/systems. You are driven by curiosity with a strong desire to understand the various technical areas that contribute to design.
