In addition, you will be required to support other R&D projects that require electromagnetics competence. Your work will result in delivering outcomes in the form of software, hardware, technical reports, patent applications, scientific papers, and presentations. Your background PhD in either of the following areas - Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Engineering, Power System Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on electromagnetic modelling. Demonstrated expertise in computational electromagnetism. You have prior experience of designing and conducting relevant experimental studies. Knowledge and/or research experience with high-voltage power apparatus such as transformers, reactors, generators, or switchgears. Knowledge of high-voltage phenomena such as corona, partial discharge, insulation breakdown and degradation would be beneficial. Experience in electromagnetic interference and compatibility would also be advantageous, as would experience in designing high-voltage power apparatus. The opportunity For our research and development department at Transformers we are looking for an R&D Engineer to lead and participate in R&D projects related to HVDC Transformer Service. The role will develop new service solutions for HVDC transformers and contribute with the service perspective in development of HVDC transformer technology, while working in close cooperation with experts in different transformer technology fields as well as the service organization. Working in R&D will give you the possibilities to use your creativity to solve a wide spectrum of challenges. Work with both the local factory and the global organization within Transformers and have career development opportunities as a Specialist or as a Project Manager. How you’ll make an impact Lead and participate in R&D projects related to HVDC transformer service. Provide the service perspective in development of HVDC transformer technology. Improve life cycle management of HVDC transformers by implementing services and diagnostic tools and methods to increase reliability. Propose and develop new service solutions for HVDC transformers, as well as improve existing ones. Create requirements for the proposed R&D projects solutions and participate in development and implementation. Coach and provide support and technical advice to colleagues in your area of expertise. Participate in customer meetings where your expertise is needed. Your background You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline. Knowledge of transformer technology is an advantage. Project management experience is meriting. Experience from transformer service is meriting.
