You will join a small team building a new creative experience, creating and refining ideas, and then rapidly prototyping and iterating. You have a background in games - and ideally worked on projects with layered systems for players to explore. You want to work on something different, leveraging design ideas into a new context focused on enabling player creativity.. You will build many proof of concept prototypes - paper prototypes, in-engine experiences, diagrams - whatever is needed, and help lift that work into the larger technical framework. Speaking of that, while you won't be expected to write code, a strong understanding of systems and technical processes is important. You will own and spearhead game features directly, and work hands-on in cross disciplinary teams while implementing Gameplay Features, together with Animators, Coders and other design disciplines. As a Video Artist at Embark we have a “game first” attitude where our players are our number one priority. To us, it’s important that our trailers represent our games, and it will be part of your job to ensure that! In this role you will work heavily with gameplay material and other in-game content. As a Senior Game Designer on Embark's Creative Play team, you will work with the team building systems that enable and encourage creative play for our users. You may specialise in a certain discipline or skill - but you have a broad interest in design and creativity.. You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and other designers of the project, in refining concepts and ideas into tangible designs, prototypes and features, as well as Production leadership helping in articulating and establishing estimates, project scope and timelines. You have ideally worked on several different game styles in varied contexts, and are interested in overarching challenges and possibilities of game creation. You want to build things, but what excites you is providing the tools that enable others to create. You will be entering the project in early production meaning many things are yet to discover. We are looking for a talented and skilled Engagement Designer to join one of our game teams here at Embark. We are looking for a person who can add their knowledge, skills and experience within Meta Game, Progression, Engagement and Retention design, to a team of around 100 game makers that are in the production phase of development of a Free-to-play PvP Action Game. As an Engagement Designer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, balancing and maintaining meta game features, including various types of player progression and player competition, that add to the player experience, and give players meaningful goals and activities to strive for over time. You will be working closely together with the monetization team, as well as Game Production and Product Direction, in analyzing the performance of meta game features, to ensure that we are able to engage and retain consistently and over a long time, as part of the game’s Live Service ambitions. You will also work closely together with Creative and Gameplay Direction. And you will be working cross collaboratively with Core Gameplay Designers as well as UI and UX Developers, to ensure that engagement features are presented as an attractive package that fits well with the rest of the game.
