At ADB Safegate, you will join a unique environment where software meets the physical world. Here, you will work with systems that directly impact how airports operate globally, from how aircraft are handled on the ground to how operations are optimized in real time. This role offers a rare combination of system architecture and hands-on development. You will not only shape how complex systems are designed and evolve, but also stay close to the code and the technical implementation. We are looking for someone with a strong engineering mindset, someone who understands systems at a deeper level and is not limited to a specific programming language. In this environment, you will work across multiple technologies and have the opportunity to influence future technical choices, regardless of your background. What will do you do? In the role as System Architect / Senior Developer at ADB Safegate, you will: Take a key role in shaping and improving a complex microservices-based system Combine architectural work with hands-on coding Work closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to align technical and business needs Drive discussions around system design, scalability, and future architecture, while contributing to new services and improvements of the existing system The current tech environment includes technologies such as C++, TypeScript, Angular, Kubernetes, and microservices, with a future direction towards modernizing parts of the system and exploring technologies such as .NET, Rust, or Go, as well as cloud-based solutions. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who is either already working as an architect, or a senior developer ready to take the next step into an architectural role. For this position, your mindset and system understanding are more important than experience in a specific tech stack. We are looking for someone who: Has strong experience working with complex systems and backend development, preferably in microservices-based environments Has solid knowledge of Kubernetes or similar container-based platforms Is comfortable combining hands-on coding with architectural thinking and can communicate technical concepts clearly to different stakeholders Is curious, proactive, and open to working with different technologies and programming languages in a dynamic environment It is considered a plus if you have experience with cloud environments, DevOps practices, or systems that combine software and hardware (e.g. IoT). What does ADB Safegate offer? ADB Safegate offers a unique opportunity to work in a global and technically advanced environment within the aviation industry. You will be part of a team with high autonomy, where ideas are encouraged and decisions can be made quickly. At the same time, you will have the stability and resources of a well-established global company. The culture is open and collaborative, with a strong focus on trust, ownership, and continuous development.
