About the position As a Backend Web Developer you will be a part of our Engineering department consisting of about 50 engineers working within embedded systems, system software as well as windows applications, and web services. In this position you will be a part of the Web Tools Team, which consists of Software Developers, a UX Designer, a Product Manager, and a Content Writer. The team is working on developing new web-based commissioning and operation tools and is looking for you who want to be part of this exciting journey. Some of the things you’ll do As a Staff Engineer, you will work across multiple engineering teams. What you do on a daily basis depends on what your teams need help with. One team might be doing a major overhaul of a legacy system they just inherited, another might need input on what authentication provider to choose, and a third might currently be in a great state with little need of support. Thus, what you do for a team depends on the team's current state and might change over time. Some common areas of support the SE can give to the team. Support teams with hard technical problems or architecture How and when to collaborate with other teams How and when to address technical debt Pragmatism: How to incrementally address a problem, or when to move slowly and carefully and when to move fast and loose Our engineers make some of the most important decisions for the company and our products. We’re looking for people who enjoy learning, sharing, and working with other developers to solve new and interesting problems. You will also mentor more junior engineers and get the chance to see them grow and take on more complex problems. When you join us, you’ll have a part in deciding the technologies that we use.
