The opportunity The Mechanical Plant Design team, part of HVDC, is now looking for an Associate Mechanical Plant Design Engineer to join. We are looking for someone who can further strengthen this cooperative spirit, so if you thrive in a collaborative environment and value teamwork, this could be the perfect opportunity for you." - Hiring Manager Daniel Granat How you’ll make an impact Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform station layout design in 3D modelling in parts and assemblies. 2D drafting for drawings and layouts and make sure they are delivered on time and meet quality and safety standards. Correctly use design principles, guidelines and applicable standards that are used within mechanical plant design of HVDC stations, onshore and offshore. Prepare and propose/present for example bill of materials, estimated engineering hours, general project documentation. Interact with customers, suppliers, contractors and internal departments to achieve the scope of deliveries. Your background A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Knowledge in 3D-Modeling and preforming 2D-drawings/layouts in Software tools NX/TC. A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new Technologies. The Opportunity We are looking for a motivated and skilled Design Engineer to join our Local Product Support team. In this role, you will provide hands-on engineering expertise, contribute to product care activities, and support both internal and external stakeholders with technical solutions. You will work closely both with our teams in the factory and global product support to secure high-quality performance of our products. How You Will Make an Impact Deliver high-quality technical expertise and hands-on troubleshooting of complex issues across the organization. High level technical investigations and testing Identify and implement mechanical product improvements, to enhance performance and manufacturability. Create and maintain technical documentation, including test instructions and standard testing procedures to ensure consistent product quality. Prepare and maintain technical documents and drawings to enable quality assurance and meet regulatory or customer requirements. Act as a key link between R&D, Global Product Support, and the Factory, ensuring smooth communication, knowledge transfer, and alignment across teams. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments and with external customers and suppliers to understand needs, resolve issues, and deliver technical solutions that add value. Your Background A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience required. Hands-on experience in mechanical tasks, particularly in breaker development and product care. Proficiency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken. Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships. Solution-oriented and supportive mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Skilled in using CREO or other 3D CAD programs for mechanical design and development.
