System Design Engineer – Insulation Coordination

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems. Your responsibilities To successfully take on this position, you need to be thorough and structured with a high technical interest and strive for good solutions within the set time limits. You will be involved in projects, tenders, base and some R&D work. To grow with each task, enabling yourself to develop and take more and more responsibility. HVDC is a complex product, there is always more to learn. Your main task will be to study and verify the overvoltage protection scheme through simulations in PSCAD/EMTDC. Project/tender specific fault scenarios need to be investigated and the resulting overvoltage’s from the simulations will be input for equipment specifications and mechanical layout. Handle the interface with other interfacing departments. Ensuring you understand their needs, and they yours, and to work for a good corporation for best end results together. EE System Design Engineer

EE System Design Engineer We are looking for an experienced EE System Design Engineer for our client in the automotive industry. Job description: You will together with the team work on the system Design with both new and old architecture and on the configuration technology in the vehicle and surrounding systems. Develop, improve, and support configuration parameters based on new functionality for all platforms. You will design and implement the configuration software module and provide guideline for ECU application to use configuration service interfaces. You will also conduct testing and create automated test methods. Provide support and create new processes. You will drive the exploration of alternative EE concepts during the very early phases of our new projects or to mature current products. This includes system level design of embedded systems, e.g. designing effective systems by logical design of SW & HW components based on Autosar. Deciding the most advantageous choice of ECUs or communication-buses etc. Provide technical expertise and system knowledge to support the development teams through the development of the solution. Experience Required: • You have a minimum of 5 years of work experience as a EE System Designer preferably for commercial vehicles. • You have a University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar • Experience withing architectural work, you have created modules and interfaces in a design tool. • You have experience from SW-, Functional- or System Development within the automotive industry • Experience of handling requirements Skills required • You are skilled in embedded systems, with extensive experience in system- & function design with a good understanding on how functions and services are realized through application SW, SW platforms (Autosar Platform, Embedded Linux, etc.), electronics (ECUs) and electrical components and HW. Big plus if you have worked with the TEA2+ architecture or similar, but experience from other architectures used in other vehicle companies in the automotive industry is also a merit. • You are familiar with automotive standards and technologies, especially onboard communication technologies and protocols (CAN, LIN and Ethernet). • System weaver, Jira and Autosar knowledge. Kola is a plus • knowledge of distributed electrical systems and electrical architecture • You have excellent communicational skills and can easily create networks and collaborate with others. • You are driven, pro-active and can take initiatives and lead other more junior engineers. • Fluent in English both spoken and written, Swedish is a merit • You are curious, helpful and want to contribute to the team. • You enjoy working agile and teamwork • Have a positive mindset and a “Can-do” attitude.

It will involve interfacing with a variety of groups including electrical engineering and mechatronics engineering as well as customers and suppliers / technical partners.   In this position you will be involve in detail of safety design, requirement review and support teams to do FSC and TSC at system, SW and HW levels which might include the refinement of safety requirements on HW and SW and ensure bidirectional traceability.  The main responsibilities entailed in this role are: • Active involvement in writing functional safety instruction and guidelines, providing templates. • Provide functional safety trainings for different safety activities including impact analysis, HARA, safety analysis on SW and HW part.  • Planning and scorekeeping of safety test activities (Safety plan) depending on the scope of each specific vehicle project  • Drive the development of functional and technical safety concepts within the function, system, subsystem, software, and hardware  • Lead functional safety engineering activities for product development teams and develop technical work products.  • Co-developing Impact analysis and making recommendations for inclusion of accurate safety criteria in system design and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.  • Develop technical work products specific for functional safety requirements, e.g. item definition, criticality analyses, other safety analyses, and test coverage analysis for safety requirements • Support the implementation of functional and technical safety requirements in all parts of the vehicle system design  • Support the development of verification and validation strategies within the subsystems, software, and hardware, e.g. hazard and risk assessment (HARA), FTAs, DFMEAs, functional safety concept & technical safety concept (for systems with safety goals or ASIL classified requirements)  • Develop and integrate Functional Safety standards and industry common practices into corporate processes according to ISO 26262.  • Ensure technical specifications and other work products are prepared, and stored correctly, and revisions are managed and released in timely manner  • Ensure that safety plan activities meet program timing.  • Align safety related topics with suppliers and customers.  Who are you! You have a strong ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams.  Required qualifications: • M.Sc. or B.Sc. within Electrical, Applied Physics, Mechatronic Engineering  • Knowledge of functional safety activities and deliveries according to ISO 26262  • Documented experience of working with: 1. Safety Analyses at HW and SW levels including HW/SW, 2. FMEA & FTA, Performing DFA, analysis of freedom of Interferences. 3. Specification of the hardware-software interface (HSI) 4. SW/HW Architecture 5. HW schematics, BOM list and HW Metrics (ASIL C/D) • Functional and technical safety concept for automotive industry within domains with ASIL > B • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
