On behalf of a partner company, Nordic Investin is looking for an Engineering Manager. You believe strong engineering management means better decisions, healthier teams and software that becomes easier to change. The partner is growing a product engineering group and needs a manager who can combine people leadership with credible technical direction. You will create clarity around ownership, hiring, delivery and development while partnering closely with product management. The environment will suit someone who enjoys building systems, testing assumptions in code and taking responsibility for production behaviour. Technical choices are expected to be explained in terms of maintainability, reliability and the people who use the product. How you will work You will work in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain and operational colleagues. The partner expects engineers to review designs, test assumptions early and follow important changes into production. Decisions should be recorded clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later. This is a leadership role with hands on responsibility for direction, decisions and the capability of others. You will create enough structure for teams to move independently, while stepping into detail when risk or ambiguity demands it. The partner wants visible ownership without unnecessary hierarchy. What you will do Lead and develop a team of software engineers. Set clear expectations and coach performance through regular feedback. Improve planning, delivery flow and sustainable on call practices. Recruit thoughtfully and build an effective onboarding path. Partner with product leaders on scope, risk and team capacity. Maintain enough technical depth to challenge designs and remove blockers. What you will bring Previous line management or engineering lead responsibility. Strong software engineering foundation and production experience. Evidence of coaching senior and developing engineers. Ability to manage delivery without reducing work to activity metrics. Experience recruiting and shaping team capability. Clear, humane communication in English. Experience that would add value Management across more than one team. Organisational design during growth or change. Background in SaaS, platforms or regulated products. A background that can succeed here You may be an experienced manager or a technical lead who has already taken meaningful responsibility for people and delivery. We are looking for someone who can be direct about standards while creating the safety required for honest technical discussion. What makes the opportunity interesting The role gives you influence over both the product and the environment in which engineers do their best work. The partner wants a manager who can build durable capability, not simply coordinate a backlog. The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time. The recruitment conversation During the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap. How to apply Apply with your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note describing the most relevant system, product or transformation you have helped deliver. Nordic Investin welcomes candidates with different routes into technology and assesses applicants on relevant capability, judgement and potential.

Its scope spans cloud landing zones, developer environments, CI/CD, observability, service-catalogue capabilities, and AI tooling. We are looking for a Team Lead who can help a senior team turn these components into a reliable, easy-to-use platform. You will report to the Head of Tech and work closely with Operations and technical teams across Netlight. At Netlight, the Team Lead role combines Engineering Manager responsibilities – people, technology, and business impact – with Product Manager responsibilities: problem discovery, stakeholder management, and prioritisation. You set direction, remove blockers, and make trade-offs visible. Goals, budget envelopes, and hiring decisions are shaped with the Head of Tech. You will thrive in this role if you bring: - Strong prioritisation skills and a product mindset. You can balance operational requests, strategic investment, and team capacity. - Experience building or running a platform as a product. You understand self-service, golden paths, service catalogues, clear ownership, and useful defaults – not only keeping infrastructure available. - A self-directed, improvement-oriented mindset. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: - At least three years of experience leading software-engineering teams. - Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, or a combination of these platforms. You do not need to be hands-on every day, but you should make informed calls and earn credibility with the team. - A record of bringing structure to ambiguous, high-pressure situations and turning them into well-run operations. - The ability to work from a Netlight office at least three days per week. - Fluency in English. - Swedish or German skills are a plus. Nice to have: - Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar developer-infrastructure platforms. - Experience working in a Developer Experience or Platform Building group, team, or area. - Direct experience with AI coding assistants or custom LLM-based developer tooling. - Familiarity with cloud cost governance or FinOps. What you will do: You will lead a small, senior platform team responsible for cloud landing zones, AI tooling, and builder-experience components including monitoring, CI/CD, and service catalogue capabilities. The team wants to invest more energy in cloud and builder infrastructure. Your leadership will help it do that while keeping shared services dependable. You will work closely with the Head of Tech, Operations, and technical teams. Your key responsibilities will be to: - Team leadership and development: Set direction, coach, and grow engineers. Build an environment where ideas, risks, and concerns surface early and feedback leads to action. - Operational oversight: Maintain a clear view of cloud and builder-experience platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including GitLab and CI/CD. Build documentation and knowledge-sharing practices that make the platform resilient by design. - Planning and execution: Shape the cloud-infrastructure and AI-platform roadmap. Balance stability work with the ambition to build strong builder infrastructure and guide the adoption of AI-assisted development tooling where it creates value. - Communication and collaboration: Represent the team’s needs and constraints upward. Involve the team before making commitments that affect its scope, capacity, or working conditions. - Culture and engagement: Build trust through consistency. The team works across two main areas: customer-specific adaptations of existing products and the development of next-generation systems and functionality. Your role is to set direction and priorities across both areas and ensure that complex initiatives move from decision to completed, high-quality delivery. You will also help shape the future of Berg’s software development capabilities by identifying how AI-assisted development and other emerging technologies can be introduced securely, responsibly, and where they create real value. Combining leadership with technical understanding, you will drive structure, prioritisation, and ways of working while contributing to technical discussions and architecture and design decisions. You will collaborate closely with hardware, systems, product, and other engineering functions to create alignment across disciplines. Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and develop the software engineering team, supporting individual growth and team performance. Translate priorities and decisions into clear plans, ownership, and accountability. Ensure on-time delivery of order-specific software releases. Drive complex software development initiatives through to completed, quality-assured delivery. Ensure a lifecycle perspective across development, delivery, service, updates, and long-term maintenance. Contribute to technical discussions and support architecture and design decisions. Continuously improve development practices, processes, tools, and software quality. Promote the secure, responsible, and value-creating use of AI-assisted software development. You will report to the CTO. The position is based on Hönö, and fluency in Swedish and English is required. The recruitment process will include security vetting, which the successful candidate will be required to complete successfully. ABOUT YOU We are looking for a technically strong and forward-thinking leader who has successfully led software teams in a product-oriented environment and brings a solid background in embedded software development. Experience with Linux-based platforms is advantageous. You combine a strong understanding of modern software development practices with structured and pragmatic leadership. You make informed decisions, create alignment, and drive complex initiatives towards high-quality delivery. You recognise the potential of AI-assisted software development and understand the importance of introducing it safely, responsibly, and where it creates real value. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships across functions are key. Qualifications: Relevant academic degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience. Proven experience leading and developing software teams in a product-oriented organisation. Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including CI/CD, code reviews, version control, and testing strategies. Technical understanding of development in C, C++, or Go, with the ability to evaluate and challenge technical solutions. Understanding of software lifecycle, including delivery, service, updates, and long-term maintenance. Meritorious: Experience from the marine industry, industrial automation, or other critical safety systems. Knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial solutions, including relevant standards.
