The opportunity HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. As Project Manager within the Valve Department of HVDC you will have an exciting and important position leading a project team and coordinating interfaces within a global organization. How you´ll make an impact Managing a project team within the scope of valve department or HVDC systems installed globally. Handling the aspects of the projects to agreed-upon customer requirements and ensuring that technical, safety, quality and financial targets are met. Coordinating and motivating the work of a team of electrical, mechanical and test engineers, as well as material supply and production. Responsible for project implementations ensuring best practices in cost control, resource efficiency, risk management and HSE. Achieving project deliverables on time and in compliance with contract requirements. Leading the delivery of HVDC Valves, Valve Cooling System and the Optical Measurement equipment. Your background: As a leader you are structured, open-minded and communicative. Experience in following up on planning-related and financial project tasks. Ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks. Your background A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. Experience in 3D-Modeling and preforming 2D-drawings/layouts in Software tools NX/TC. A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new Technologies. The opportunity As Production Technology Engineer, you will be part of the MACH Product Handling team in HVDC. In this role you will supervise the manufacturing processes related to the MACH system, ensuring quality work is done in a safe and efficient matter. We are convinced that HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology, solutions for energy transfer with direct current at high voltages, is a long-term sustainable solution. The technology is used for energy transmission over long distances and to connect electricity networks with minimal losses. In addition to energy transfer, HVDC technology also alleviates electricity quality problems and can contribute to the stabilization of connected power grids. For offshore wind power or long-distance underwater transmissions, direct current is the only realistic energy transmission alternative. How you’ll make an impact Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner. Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production and costs. Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations on improvements. Keeping track of advancements in engineering and production and sharing knowledge with co-workers. Drawing up production schedules when needed. Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders. Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement. Be responsible for test systems at our electronic suppliers including maintenance, for systems owned by Hitachi Energy HVDC. Obtaining any materials and equipment required. Your background Degree in engineering (Master's degree preferable). Experience with documentation of electronic products (CAD drawings, Bill Of Materials, Test Instructions, etc.). Proficiency in MS Office. Proven experience in the engineering field. Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong leadership abilities. Superb written and verbal communication skills. Ability to make decisions under pressure. Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
